The sun is shining and half term is just around the corner.

Here are our top picks of events and activities in and around Frome to help keep your little (and not so little) ones occupied and entertained.

The Realm @ Longleat – 27th May – 4th June

inflatable castle at LongleatDiscover new realms and embark on an amazing adventure at Longleat this half term. Brave knights can take on the ultimate challenge of our giant inflatable castle course, The Realm. A massive 650ft long, The Realm contains inflatable tunnels, slides and lots of other exciting challenges to be faced!

You can also enjoy medieval merriment in the Longhouse including birds of prey displays; knight and dragon stage show; and design your own sword, shield and crown.

Animal Experiences @ Fairfield Animal Centre – 27th May – 3rd June

donkeyHead to Fairfield Animal Centre this half term for an exciting range of animal experiences.

From walking their alpacas and goats, donkey meet and greets, to learning all about birds, bees, and bugs in their educational experience, there’s plenty of fun to be had.

Kidspiration: Holistic Drama and Singing Workshop – 29th May – 2nd June

children at Kidspiration classKidspiration are offering a holistic drama and singing workshop at the beautiful lakeside retreat of Marston Park, for 7 to 12 year olds.

The workshop will be empowering children to express themselves through movement, storytelling and their voice and they’ll have a chance to explore improvisation, confidence building play, performance skills and devising original material.

Play Wild Quarry – 31st May – 2nd June

Super RootsPlay Wild Quarry is a wild (supported + playful) space to explore, cook, craft, create and feed children’s curiosity and imaginations….

Loose ideas include games, DIY costumes and masks, kids cafe and lots more… although… the best made plans are often expanded sideways, upside, forwards by the children’s ideas!

BattleCats Holiday Club – 31st May – 2nd June

Fairy Tales Day @ Frome Library – 1st June

Lego modelsHead to Frome library for a variety of sessions including pirate and princesses story time, fairy tale Lego and dragon crafts!

Matilda the Musical – on screen – 1st June

MATILDA film stillEnjoy a screening of the film adaptation of this Tony and Olivier award-winning musical at the Merlin Theatre.

Matilda tells the story of an extraordinary girl who, armed with a sharp mind and a vivid imagination, dares to take a stand to change her story with miraculous results.

Westway Cinema

Little mermaidIf you need to get out of the house, but want to stay in the shade, then why not head to Frome’s fabulous independent Westway Cinema.

Next week you can catch family movies The Super Mario Bros. Movie and The Little Mermaid for just a fraction of the price of other cinemas.

Frome Boulder Rooms

child on climbing wallFrome Boulder Rooms are running special sessions all week from 29th May – 4th June.

Climbing and Craft club for 6-8 year olds; coaching for juniors aged 9-11; and coaching for ages 12-15.  And kids don’t have to have all the fun – there are also family sessions running throughout the week.

Places are limited, so book early to avoid disappointment!

Paint your own pottery at Made at Nest

Made at Nest coffee and carIf you’re looking for something crafty to do with the kids but in your own time, then look no further than Made at Nest.

You can choose from a selection of over 70 different ceramic items to paint and enjoy a cuppa and piece of cake in the process.
