A wet yet wonderful wassail at Weylands 🌧🍎🍏🎶🧀
Thank you to everyone who came along to help us wake the orchard from its winter slumber - the rain didn`t stop us! We crafted wassail sticks, enjoyed hot mulled cider from @dowdings_applejuice_cider, toasted the trees, made beautiful willow crowns with FROGS Frome, marvelled at the Somerset Morris dancers, enjoyed tunes from the @fromestreetbandits and celebrated in true wassail style thanks to Charly, Annabelle and Simon.
Thanks also to @constancedoylephotography for the wonderful images.

The lighting of the Valentine`s Lamp, a well-loved Frome tradition, takes place every Valentine`s Day at 5:30pm. 💡❤
Head to the lamp on Catherine Street for a wonderful community event. Lamplighter Eddie Young will light the lamp using a traditional pole, listen to love poems from Frome Writers Collective, enjoy live music from accordionist Tom Woolman, sip some mulled wine and soak up the atmosphere of the lamp lighting ceremony.
This tradition has taken place since 1993, when creator and renovator Reg Ling brought the lamp to life and kept the spark alive until he handed over the baton the Eddie at last year`s ceremony.
Head to the heart shaped cobbles at the top of Catherine Hill, at 5:30pm on Valentine`s Day to witness the ceremony and celebrate love!

🍎 Wæs hæl! Drinc hæl! 🍎
Come along for the fourth annual Wassail at Weylands, Sunday 8th February from 1:30pm - 3:30pm. Wassailing is an age old tradition, `waking up` the orchard from its winter slumber and ensuring a bountiful harvest for the later in the year.
There will be mulled cider, a chance to bang pots and pans very loudly (please bring your own!), live music and entertainment, and of course a chance to witness a well-loved ceremony in one of our fantastic green spaces. Come along and lets wassail!
