As we start the countdown to the Christmas season, there’s lots on in Frome to get you in the festive mood and to entertain you on the darker evenings.  Here’s our events calendar round up for November.

Lantern Workshops – 2nd, 7th, 17th & 27th NovemberLantern making workshop

In the run up to the Lantern Parade at the Christmas lights switch on, we’re running a number of free workshops to help you create your perfect lantern.

Frome Library – Saturday 2nd November 10am-12pm.

Welshmill Hub – Thursday 7th November, 4pm-7pm and Sunday 17th November 10am-12pm and 1.30pm -4pm.

Frome Town Hall, finishing touches session – Wednesday 27th November 4pm-7pm.

FSB Big Band – 2nd November

FSB Big BandIf you’re looking to continue the party atmosphere after the fireworks, head up to the Rook Lane Chapel to hear FSB Big Band in full swing.

Showcasing the music of the great Jazz Orchestras such as Count Basie, Glenn Miller, Stan Kenton and more played authentically, with passion and swing. Our classy vocalist/MC will sing some timeless numbers, and dancing is warmly encouraged. Find out more.

Frome Walking Festival – 7th-9th November

From humble beginnings to offering twenty walks and activities over three days, Frome’s Walking Festival 2019 is suitable for all abilities. We have children’s walks and trails, town walks including the Singer’s Trail and a popular comedy walk.

We’ll also have accessible buggy walks, pub walks, tree and woodland walks and of course a few serious rambles as we launch the Saxon Kings Way.  All are welcome, plus well behaved dogs on leads, unless otherwise stated. Find out more.

Frome Symphony Orchestra – 9th November

Frome Symphony presents an concert of classical favourites for small orchestra. Beethoven’s Triple Concerto and Mozart’s 40th Symphony in G minor – one of his most popular works, containing beautiful tunes that many will recognise. Find out more here.

Multicultural Frome – 10th November

Multicultural FromeGo along to the Cheese & Grain to find local people from around the globe sharing and celebrating their cultures. Try Clog Morris Dancing, listen to Klezmer music, watch a Peruvian dance. Make and do arts and crafts including Mexican catrina masks and Japanese origami and calligraphy.

There’ll also be kids’ activities and toddler corner, games and quizzes as well as Remembrance Sunday displays and talks and food to try and buy. More info here.

The Big Movember Takeover – 15 NovemberMovember Takeover

Get yourself along to 23 Bath Street to raise some much-needed funds towards an incredible charity who highlight the awareness of men’s health. From Mental Health and suicide prevention through to prostate and testicular cancer awareness, Movember has raised millions of pounds and helped to save the lives of many families around the globe.

Christmas light switch on & lantern parade – 29th November

The annual Light the Night Christmas event is returning for the whole town to come together to celebrate the Christmas light switch on following the spectacular lantern procession.

The evening will also feature stalls selling festive food and drinks, there will be carol singing, Father Christmas will have his grotto on the Market Cross and the lights will be switched on from the balcony at The George. Find out more here.
