Events Calendar Round-Up: May 2019

With so much to see and do in Frome, especially when it comes to our events calendar, it’s easy to miss some of the best bits. Here is our monthly round up of a few of the most interesting events on this month. Italian Coffee Conversation Morning – 3rd May

Everyday Friday, from 9:20am to 10:20am, The Archangel host an Italian Coffee morning, focusing the conversations in Italian. All are welcome to attend whether you’re a beginner or advanced in the Italian language; lessons are just £10, book your place now.

The Frome Independent Market – 5th May

The town’s monthly celebration of contemporary craft, independent retail and community spirit. The Frome Independent won an award for best family attraction in 2017, being named winners after beating competition from all across Somerset. With their ever-changing array of seasonal activities and stalls to suit everyone in the family, the market really does bring something for everyone.

Bohemian Rhapsody Outdoor Cinema Experience – 12th May

An amazing outdoor cinema experience at Frome Cricket Club with a showing of the fantastic Bohemian Rhapsody! (12A) Bohemian Rhapsody is a foot-stomping celebration of Queen, their music and their extraordinary lead singer, Freddie Mercury. The film traces the meteoric rise of the band through their iconic songs and revolutionary sound culminates in their iconic performance at Live Aid. There will be food, snacks, bar and music before the film starts. The gates open at 7pm, with the film starting shortly after sunset.

Antarctic Monkeys – 17th May

After the release of the Arctic Monkey’s first album, four guys from Wolverhampton realised they would become an arena band, and therefore formed the Antarctic Monkeys in a March 2006 jamming session. They’ve travelled the UK and played venues armed only with one album of material, the success has continued and now armed with a set-list of almost 30 songs, the demand for the Antarctic Monkeys is ever growing with tours booked up worldwide, including the Cheese & Grain this month.

Fat Radish Tasting Nights – 20th May

Join the Fat Radish for their popular tasting events! Serving up six sensational courses along with pairing wines with each course. Frome Craft Beer Festival 2019 – 24th – 26th May

It’s back – Palmer Street Bottle’s second battle of the craft with their good friends at Brewed Boy is back this May! 2 bars, 10 craft beer taps continuously rotating, street food and DJ’s. There’s also a new Sunday session with BBQ from their good friends at Penleigh Butchers. As well as a new wine menu and a limited number of weekend tickets, covering all 4 sessions.

Pop Divas Live – 25th May

Get ready for the best songs from all your favourite female stars in one fabulous fun-packed show, with 4 enormously talented girls bring you up close and personal with the greatest female pop performers of today. With dazzling choreography, state of the art videos and superb vocals, Pop Divas Live is the perfect pop concert experience for the little divas in your life.

An Evening with Bobby Davro – 31st May

Join us for an intimate cabaret evening with one of the UK’s funniest comedy performers, Bobby Davro. We promise an evening of delicious food coupled with fun and laughter as Bobby Davro takes centre stage at Orchardleigh. He will begin his fabulously funny comedy performance after dinner, guaranteed to have the room roaring with laughter from start to finish.
