Black Swan Arts Young Open – 19th April

Why not visit the Black Swan Arts for a coffee and a browse the popular Black Swan Arts Young Open exhibition, a competition that was open for young people aged 8 – 19 which is the biggest in the South West. The competition demonstrates the on-going and major commitment of Black Swan Arts to the development of talent, as well as building strong links with the community, locally, regionally and nationally.

Spring Season Fun From Landscape to Orbit at Hauser & Wirth Somerset – 20th April

This Easter, Hauser & Wirth are celebrating Spring through a creative exploration of landscapes on Earth and beyond. Families are invited to step inside the planetarium, one of the most advanced digital theatre domes in the country, to explore the wonders of the natural world with us. Durslade Farm will be transformed into a site of creative and scientific exploration, with family activities and local food and drink. There will be themed activities and you may even get the chance to get your face painted. This is a FREE event and all are welcome.

Frome Cider Festival 2019 – 20th April

The Frome Cider Festival will be returning to the Cheese & Grain this bank holiday weekend. It will feature a large selection of local ciders, tasters, live music and a BBQ. Entry is £5, and pints will be sold at just £4. Please note this event is 18+ and ID may be required to gain entry. Why not head down and make the most of the good weather?

Mells Daffodil Festival 2019 – 22nd April

It’s Mells Daffodil Festival’s 40th Birthday! They are planning their usual programme of fun events – including a dog show, a tug of war, teddy bear parachuting, ferret racing and Morris men. Plus live music all day and more than 100 street stalls. As it’s their 40th birthday they will be channelling all things 1979 by having a 70s fancy dress competition which will be judged by TV presenter Jeremy Wade – so please come dressed in your best flares and platforms! The event will be opened by ITV Weather presenter Alex Beresford at 11am. There will be buses running from Frome and you can view the timetable here.
