Events Calendar Round-up: March 2024

March marks the beginning of spring – hooray! To celebrate, we have a jam-packed schedule throughout the month. Get those calendars filled and ready to see in the new season.

We’ve selected a few highlights, but for the full run down, take a look through our events calendar.

What’s on throughout March

1st March – 4th March: Frome Window Wanderland

Window Wanderland returns this year, a fun community event where residents light up Frome from their very own windows. Streets will be transformed into a magical outdoor gallery for all to enjoy! Download the map or grab a paper copy from the Town Hall, Discover Frome Information Point or Black Swan Arts.

3rd March: The Frome Independent

Frome Independent Market postermusicThis month brings the first indie market of the year, back with a bang! Expect delicious local food and drink, gorgeous homewares, jewellery, skin care, art, ceramics, seeds, plants, vintage finds and live music. Somerset Farmer’s Market will be at the Boyle Cross selling great quality fresh produce from local suppliers.

9th March: Frome Busks

Frome Busks

Fabulously talented Frome College students will take to the streets on Saturday 9th March to showcase their musical abilities at this year’s Frome Busks. Eight stages across the town centre will host solo artists, bands and more, performing a wide range of musical genres from covers to original pieces. Audiences will be encouraged to move between the stages to fully enjoy and immerse themselves in the music. Whilst you’re there, why not enjoy a spot of shopping in our wonderful independents all over town, and a bite to eat in one of the many cafes and eateries?

5th March – 18th March: International Women’s Day events

This year’s theme for International Women’s Day, on 8th March, is “Inspire Inclusion”, helping to forge a better, more inclusive world for women. We’ve put together a selection of fantastic events that are happening in and around Frome to celebrate the cause. Please note that International Women’s Day events in Frome span a number of days – even more time to #InspireInclusion and celebrate women.

16th March – 22nd March: Kindness Festival

The Good Heart logoThe Good Heart is putting on another fantastic festival for us this year, with a jam-packed itinerary. Each day of the festival has a different theme, but all come down to the same core values of kindness. The festival will include workshops, talks, screenings, concerts and more. 28th March: Dirty Laundry

Live storytelling and spoken word poetry night with open mic at the Archangel. Featuring special guest, award-winning poet and performer, Malaika Kegode. This month’s Dirty Laundry theme is ‘Inheritance’. Tickets are £6.

31st March: Frome Memorial Theatre’s Easter party

Illustration of a bunny with Easter eggGet in the Easter spirit with a fun filled party brought to you by Frome Memorial Theatre. Adults go free and must accompany any children attending – kids tickets are £8.50 and include food, Easter cake, dancing, prize to be won, Easter egg and a chance to meet the Easter bunny!
