What’s on throughout June

1st June: Barcelona Street Music

The 23 Barcelona Street Party!

Free Arts & Crafts. World Music performers. Table Football. Retro Games Consoles. Fries and Nachos available from the kitchen to keep everyone energised!

Kid Hyena are a musical culture clash, breaking boundaries of genre with urban folk sounds of foot stompin’ sing-a-long tunes, fiery percussion, tap dance beats and a bundle of positive vibes.

2nd June: Frome Pride Market and Parade

In conjunction with The Frome Independent Market, Pride is back on stage in 2024 and hosting their very own Pride Parade. You can expect great music and entertainment, plus market stalls and all in the centre of town.

2nd – 8th June: Frome Pride

Frome Pride is an annual celebration of LGBTQIA+ people, run by the community of Frome and the surrounding area. In 2022, we ran the UK’s shortest Pride in the middle of town. Last year, we held the first Frome Pride Season throughout June and are looking forward to doing the same this year!

Local businesses, performers and residents of Frome will be coming together once more to show our love and appreciation for the LGBTQIA+ community. You can look forward to events, workshops, film screenings and more!

8th June: The Simon and Garfunkel Story

Simon and Garfunkel Story (The International Hit Show)

Following SOLD-OUT performances in London’s West End, a Worldwide tour and standing ovations at every performance, The Simon & Garfunkel Story continues to stun audiences across the globe, making it a must-see international sensation.

Using huge projection photos and original film footage, the international hit show also features a full live band performing all the hits including Mrs Robinson, Cecilia, Bridge Over Troubled Water, Homeward Bound and many more. Get your tickets fast as this is an evening not to be missed!

Frome is taking part in Great Big Green Week once again from Saturday 8th to Sunday 16th June. As part of the UK-wide event, Frome’s Great Big Green Week features 40 events for all ages running across Frome, exploring and celebrating all things eco-friendly, nature based and sustainable. Many events are based in and around the town’s green spaces, highlighting the action Frome is taking to tackle the climate emergency.

9th June: Pond Dip & Allotment Explore

Families will engage with nature, explore local wildlife and learn about seasonal foods. We’ll be pond dipping and using our microscope to take a close look at what we find – you’ll be amazed by how much life is in a tray of pond water! After the pond dip, we’ll take a wander through Welshmill allotments to spot different foods growing and learn about seasonal produce.
This event is aimed at families and children must be supervised throughout the event. We want this event to be as inclusive as possible, please get in touch if you or your child has additional needs we should be aware of.

15th June: Minny Stynker

A new Family Show and Augmented Reality Experience, inspired by an original story by Artistic Director Tomasin Cuthbert.

Moving house to a new city where it always rains, Kit is alone. Making friends is always hard, but here, it feels impossible. The rain beats down on the roof and drips down the window panes, trapping Kit in the quiet stillness of their dingy bedroom.

But, one night, when idly scribbling to pass the time, the swirls and whirls on the page giggle into a life of their own, and a very unusual adventure unfolds!

A story about the magic of creativity, how we reach out to each other in the darkness and together, bring the impossible to life.

Devised by one of Bristol’s leading theatre makers for family audiences, Soap Soup combines high quality children’s theatre with the magic of projection mapping, bringing the vibrant illustrations from the book to life. Minny Stynker will bring you a completely unique theatre experience of the like you’ve never experienced before.

Join the Welcome Hub in Victoria Park for a Family Fun Day, with a busy schedule of activities including:
Music workshops with Djembe Tots
Storytelling from Somerset StoryFest
Drama fun with DramaKarma.
The event runs 10.30am to 3.30 pm and attendees are invited to bring a picnic, although the park café is open for light refreshments.
