Frome Town Band

We are delighted that Frome Town Band has kindly agreed to play for us on the opening day of the third Frome Kindness Festival. Come and enjoy their uplifting music as you shop or pass through the centre of the town on a Saturday lunchtime.

Frome Town Youth Band was originally formed in 1997 to provide an opportunity for young people to learn and perform music in and around the local community. From 2018 onwards it has ​welcomed all players & beginners of any age, ability or standard, and changed its name to Frome Town Band.

It comprises a beginners training band, intermediate band and a main band, performing a broad repertoire of music that can be booked for any occasion. It is a not-for-profit local community band that regularly plays at concerts, festivals, church services, fairs and fetes, as well as organizing fund-raising and PR events. The musical director is Chris Turner, a composer, music and instrumental teacher with over 20 years’ experience in professional and amateur musical theatre.
