Staff and volunteers at Bath Cats and Dogs Home love pets of all shapes and sizes and have begun the search to find some of the pet stars of Frome (or the one who takes the best selfie).
The Frome Pet Photo competition will be running throughout November and December and has been organised by Bath Cats and Dogs Home’s Frome volunteer group.
Sue Willis from the group says “We wanted to raise some money to help the Home get through the winter. Keeping the animals warm and safe when the temperatures drops can be much more expensive. As Frome residents ourselves we really wanted to get the Frome community involved as we know how much people love their pets and we can’t wait to see all the photo’s displayed in the charity shop window.”
Rachel Jones, Head of Fundraising at Bath Cats and Dogs Home, says “Although called Bath Cats and Dogs Home, many people don’t realise that we cover an area of 650 square miles, which includes Frome. We take in many unwanted animals from the Frome area but happily many of the animals we have cared for have been adopted by Frome residents too. We can’t wait to see the entries and are so thankful to Sue and the Frome Volunteer group for organising this fantastic competition!”
There are five categories to enter including Best Pet Selfie, Best Festive Photo, Best Friend Photo (you and your pet), Cutest Photo and Funniest Photo. It’s just £1.50 to enter (per photo) and all the proceeds go towards providing food, a safe warm bed and expert care to the animals being looked after at the Home during the cold winter months.
The winner of each category will receive a pet hamper and then be entered in to the “winners” category to find the overall pet photo star of Frome! The photo that comes out on top will be made in to a photo canvas for the winner to keep.
To enter the competition pop along to the Bath Cats and Dogs Home charity shop on Stony Street with your pet photo (physical copies only) with your name, your pets name and your contact telephone number on the back. Entries will be displayed in the charity shop window and the competition closes on 11 December.
