The Wurzels Good Friday Show 2018

30th Mar 2018 @ 20:00

£17.50

The Wurzels are back in Frome for what promises to be another massive Somerset show! Celebrate the springtime in true cider-quaffing style!

This original boy band continue to play over 100 sell-out shows every year, including the greatest festivals in the land! Their quintessentially West Country cover of Kaiser Chiefs’ ‘Ruby’ has been a massive show favourite of late, as well as their hilarious hip hop version of the ubiquitous hit ‘Combine Harvester’

A bunch of haystack-headed, no-quite-so-young lads have long paved the way for Scrumpy n’ Western – a genre packed full of double entendre, mainstream parody and a comical folk style – the perfect accompaniment to cider drinking

The bands new single is the story of the infamous 1921 Aveling and Porter steam roller “Old Rosie” which was named after the Laurie Lee book “Cider with Rosie” and has been a permanent fixture at the Fair since it’s humble beginnings in 1969

Plus the much loved Skimmity Hitchers who having risen from the cider soaked floors of Dorset’s back street boozers, they now roam the full girth of the West Country and beyond. Bringing their dry and fruity blend of Scrumpy & Western music to venues, festivals and fairs, these scrumpy swillin’ reprobates appeal to young and old, and everyone from folkies to cider punks, beardy badgers to shifty blaggers. The ‘Hitchers blend razor sharp parodies and original material with a raucous stage show, spontaneous audience interaction, cheeky banter and general cider shenanigans
