Winter Wellness Aperitivo

Winter aperitivo with Rachel de Thample at Still Life Gin.

Join award-winning author of the River Cottage Fermentation Handbook and Winter Wellness at the Still Life lab for an evening of Aperitivo to cheer up the winter blues with fermented cocktails and mocktails.

Rachel will be whipping up two amazing mocktails alongside nourishing nibbles from her new book Winter Wellness. For each drink, the Still Life team will create a phenomenally enticing blend of botanical distillates to heighten each drink should you wish to go for the full cocktail experience.

On the night you’ll learn how to use ferments in drinks, how to make Oxymel and kombucha, how to blend your own gin and how to create deeply flavourful and nourishing mocktails and cocktails.

Welcome Drink:
A surprise for the night, Still Life will put together something special (with a non-alcoholic option) to welcome you all to the lab.

The Count’s Negroni
A delicious blend of fresh grapefruit with Oxymel bitters (which Rachel will demonstrate), hibiscus, cardamom, juniper and kombucha. Optional addition of an exclusive Still Life gin blend drawing on the delicious botanicals in Rachel’s cocktail recipe.


Kombucha Cola
A spiced, fruity take on Kombucha with sparkle and zing, marrying quince with cinnamon, dried fruit and citrus zest. Still Life will have a delicious spicy and citrus forward botanical concoction on hand for those keen to experiment.

Mushroom and black garlic pate with seeded crackers and lemon and thyme celerikraut

Celeriac tacos with smoked mackerel and kimchi

A fun night where you can have glamorous fun for Dry January or you can go for the full Cocktail experience if you’re not abstaining. Either way, you’ll learn loads, be inspired and nourished.
