What does brexit mean for Somerset? Tourism and the arts in Frome

Are you are entirely clear what Brexit actually means? Are you any clearer about the impact Brexit will have on our lives, on our prospects – particularly on a personal level?

Given the uncertainty, the confusion, the increasing anxiety that’s widely felt about Brexit, the European Movement’s Mendip Branch is staging 4 public meetings to help the people of Somerset understand how the Brexit process will and is already beginning to impact us, at a grassroots level.

These public meetings will take place on consecutive Friday evenings, in September. Each meeting will examine the practical impact of Brexit on a vital segment of life in Somerset …
• on Health & Social Care ( 7th September ) at St. Peter’s Church, Shepton Mallet
• on Agriculture, Food & Our Environment ( 14th September ) at The Town Hall, Glastonbury
• on Tourism, the Arts, & Hospitality ( 21st September ) at The Hubnub Centre, Frome
• What It All Means for Somerset ( 28th September ) at St. Cuthbert’s Church, Wells

Each event will include a panel of local people who – day-to-day – are directly involved in the different sectors being put under the microscope. Amongst just some of the panelists taking part are: Anthony Gibson, formerly NFU’s Southwest Director, Ralph Lister, Chief Executive of Take Art , Richard Clothier, Managing Director of Wyke Farms Ltd. and Simon Nash, Chief Executive of The Somerset Wildlife Trust.

All are open to the public and are free-of-charge.
