Wild flower meeadow

A unique practical workshop to learn the traditional skill to manage your meadow or grassland area for benefit of wildflowers and pollinators.

The day will be led by expert Andi Rickard, who will show you how to mow your meadow with a hand scythe. Andi will introduce you to the scythe, how to fit it to you and mow safely as well as on different types of terrain or grassland type.

No previous experience needed, and we will discuss management of community meadows/sites and to increase their biodiversity. Some degree of physical fitness is needed.

Plenty of rest breaks and shade provided for refreshments. Bring packed lunch/drinks.
