Introduction to British Sign Language and Deaf Awareness – Real Project

This FREE course is being offered as part of a Department for Education National Research Project to find out if leisure learning improves people’s well-being

The aim of this course is for anyone who wants to learn some new skills, meet some like minded people and improve their general well-being.

Whether you describe yourself as feeling generally quite well, or are experiencing stress, anxiety or mild to moderate depression at the moment, you may find that attending this course will have a positive effect on how well you feel.

The aim of this course is to learn the basic of a visual language British Sign Language (BSL) is the third recognised language in our country. The aim is to communicate with the Deaf Community that uses BSL and to those with hard of hearing. This short course will include elements of Deaf Awareness. This course will include greetings, weather, days of the week and family.
