Frome Town Council will be planting over a thousand trees this February half-term and we need your help.

As part of the town’s efforts to fight climate change, 800 trees are to be planted at Weylands with a further 500 at Birchill.

Planting at Birchill will take place between 10am and 2pm on Tuesday 18th February.

Planting at Weylands will take place between 10am and 2pm on Wednesday 19th February.

In order to guarantee your space (and a tree or shrub to plant) please book a free space for everyone in your party.

At the beginning of each time slot there will be a brief talk from our Rangers explaining how to plant the trees successfully.

You don’t need to stay for the full 30 minutes, but you’re also welcome to stay for longer if you would like to plant more!

We will have spades available for you to borrow, but please do bring your own if you have one. Please dress appropriately for the weather – there’s a good chance it will be muddy under foot, so sturdy boots or wellies are a must. Gardening gloves will also come in handy.

We’ll be planting a mixture of native tree and shrub species, but please note, we cannot guarantee that you will be able to plant a specific species.

Book your free place.
