Last year in Frome Festival we ran a few events where people could make music and dance together – folk and modern jazz sessions. It was such fun and so well received by participants and audience alike that we’re back at the Old Bath Arms this year for a similar run of events. All are free entry.
Sat (4th) there is an afro-jazz workshop at 3pm, to which all instrumentalists with an interest in improvisation are welcome (see below for the tunes we will play). This is followed by a 6:30pm gig at the Food Feast (outside by the Cheese & Grain), then back in the pub for a gig at 8pm. All jazz events feature Sam Crockatt (sax), Keith Harrison-Broninski (keys), Pete Maxfield (double bass) and Eddie Jones-West (drums) – for the 8pm gig we are joined by kora player Mosi Conde, who gave us a magical night back in Dec.
See below or www.fromesessions.org for full details. Any questions, just ask – and hope to see you there!
