Free iPad Training for the Over 50’s!

18th Oct 2014 @ 10:00 - 12:00

Frometech and Frome Library are excited to announce free iPad support sessions for the over 50s on the 18th October, and then every second Saturday of the month.

Three support sessions will be run between 10am – 12pm, and will cover subjects including downloading eBooks, configuring and using email, setting up Skype, using the internet and a drop in surgery for everyday questions. Different sessions will be run each month, and spaces will be limited so booking is essential. To book your place on one of the sessions please visit the library in person, or go to the Frometech Website,  iPads will not be available to loan for the sessions so you will need to bring your own.

“31% of iPad owners in the UK fall within the 55+ age range”, explained Jamie Seviour, Founding Partner of Frometech. “We have noticed that a lot of our customers have dual ownership of a tablet device, such as the iPad and a standard desktop or laptop. As iPads are being used more for communications and eBook readers we decided to provide free sessions to the public to help them get the most out of their devices. The sessions will be aimed at people who have an iPad, but are not sure how to use some of the features or functionality of the device. Frome Library have very kindly allowed us to use their facilities to host the sessions, and it also provides a great opportunity to train people on how to use their eBook System.”

Sue Crowley, Head of Service, said “On the 18th October, Somerset Library Services will celebrate the launch of the national Family Learning Festival. Using our new free wi-fi service, Frometech’s courses will provide opportunities for members of the public to familiarise themselves with a range of tablet functions, including our own e and e audio services”.
