|Recurring Event (See all)

An event every week that begins at 7:00pm on Tuesday, repeating until 10th May 2016

£66.00

You will already have some experience of printmaking techniques and this course will give you time to explore these techniques in further detail and depth. You will complete a range of projects investigating your own themes and producing a body of work. You will have the opportunity to plan and create limited edition runs of prints in whichever printing style you choose. You can also explore a mixed media approach to printmaking. Printing options include: Lino prints, collagraphs, etching into plastic, monotype prints and screen printing. All printing materials are water based with no need for chemicals. You have use of a small printing press and cutting tools for lino. All inks are supplied although you may wish to supply your own specialist papers. You will be introduced to contemporary printmakers through hand-outs, websites and you-tube clips. This will give a wider context to your work as well as provide inspiration for your own work and increase art history awareness. Themes can be as diverse as landscape, buildings, still life, animals and flowers. You could also produce and make a small booklet of your prints.
This is a 6 week course with the tutor Amanda Bee.
