Dissenters Walk

17th May 2023 @ 10:00 - 11:15

In the 1660s English society experiences religious, social and industrial upheavals. In Frome, Molly-Ann and her brothers Ben and Nathaniel struggle to make ends meet after their family is impoverished. The changing times offer new opportunities – some less reputable than others – but while a few succeed in attaining great wealth, for others the threat of poverty, starvation or the gallows is always present . . .

Follow in the footsteps of Molly-Ann and her brothers on this 75 minute walk with the author of Dissenters – Liz Hutchinson.

Visit many of the places mentioned in the novel and learn about the inspiration behind its writing.

Access: some steep gradients.

Meet outside Frome Library. Copies of the novel will be available for sale.
