Discover Frome talks to Forest Marble – a new Estate Agent based in Frome

Discover Frome talks to Forest Marble – a new and unique Estate Agent based in Frome.

Why the name Forest Marble? It’s quite unique…

Forest Marble is the local stone that was originally quarried in the area. We wanted something that was unique to Frome’s history.

Why base your business in Frome?

We cover an area of about 25 minutes (16 miles) from our office which means we cover Frome, Warminster, Westbury, Trowbridge, Midsomer Norton, Radstock, Shepton Mallet and everything in-between.

How do you Support your local community?

We support the local area in a few different ways. We are accessible to everyone 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. We offer real-time video tours which is a tool completely unique to us. Our use of social media is unseen by any other local agent and we are now listed as one of the UKs top 50 best estate agents on Zoopla’s 100 and we’re currently 33th on the power 1000 rankings across all social media channels, an incredible achievement in the 9 months since we opened in July 2016.

Both Will and I recognise the importance of supporting the local community. On a personal level, we shop locally, supporting other businesses as much as possible. We are also apart of networking groups that aim to recommend the best of the businesses that our area has to offer. We are in contact with a few local charities and support them as much as possible. We are also very keen to support the younger generation by offering apprenticeships in Estate agency, giving a select few the opportunity to advance forward with their career in a supportive work based environment.

If you could live in any point in time, through history, when would it be and why?

I would love to have seen the 60’s purely because I love the music!

What has been the biggest change in your industry in the last year?

Like many other businesses our industry is ever evolving. We are very much adapting our business daily to the needs of our consumer by providing the best that we possibly can, anything less is a failure.

If you weren’t an estate agent what else would you being doing for a living?

If I wasn’t in Estate agency I would love to rescue, rehabilitate and re-home animals.

Rents continue to rise across the UK – do you foresee a plateau on the horizon any time soon?

I would like to see renting become more accessible to people on lower incomes. I think it’s too early to tell what might happen.

What is your favourite word?

My favourite word is Aurora. New dawn, new day.

What’s your favourite thing about Frome?

Don’t start me off, I literally can’t narrow it down to one. We love its community, culture, fresh thinking, it’s independence and of course its cobbled streets….
