Mycelium Space

Mycelium Space is a light, airy coworking space by day and a multicoloured events venue by night.

We spend half of our waking lives at work, and we want that time to be filled with moments of, connection and joy. We want to look forward to being at work.

Co-workers at Mycelium Space engage in shared rhythms that promote six foundational areas: Embodiment, Friendship & Collaboration, Joy and Gratitude, Wellbeing & Resilience, Focus & Performance and Creativity & Innovation.

Wellbeing, focus, creativity and performance thrive when we work together in community and beautiful surroundings, which, in turn, helps us to have a greater impact on the world.

We have 16 desks in our open plan main space, 3 smaller rooms for private calls, one medium-sized meeting room, a snug space with a huge, comfy sofa where you can work quietly or take a nap, and a kitchenette with a fridge, oven and hob. We have high-speed Starlink internet from space (thank you Elon), eat lunch together daily and share optional offerings like meditation or movement throughout the day. Members get 10% off our neighbours in The Station building, Rye Bakery and Lungi Baba’s.

In the evenings, Mycelium transforms into an events space. We offer an expanding program of workshops and cultural events for the wider Frome community focused on wellbeing, connection, creativity, nature connection, embodiment and personal development. Think, gigs, life drawing, ecstatic dance, yoga, men’s & women’s groups, sound baths, clowning, authentic relating, mycology, experimental music sessions, poetry nights and film screenings.

Hire us for your class, workshop or concert. The Space can hold 30 people on yoga mats, or 60 people seated on cushions. We have an integrated Philips Hue customisable coloured lighting system, sound system and a fully equipped kitchenette.

Mycelium Space was founded by Frome locals Amelia Parisian and Michael Matania. It’s the dream venue they wish Frome already had, so they created it themselves.

In nature, the mycelium is an underground network of tiny threads of fungus that connect trees and plants in the forest, sometimes called the ‘wood wide web’. The mycelium is how plants ‘communicate’ and transfer information and nutrients to support each other and the local ecosystem to thrive. The Mycelium Space strives to do the same for the people of Frome and beyond.
