What’s on for the rest of this August

3rd: The Frome Independent Market

Visitors to the market can find contemporary craft, designer-made homewares, ethical clothing and jewellery, have a rummage through vintage nostalgia or browse indoor plants, gardenalia and homewares. Also enjoy fresh seasonal produce from local farmers, growers and producers, from bakes and pastries, to meats, chutneys and preserves.

7th: Listen Dance

Put on your dancing shoes and get ready to hit the floor in this raucous evening of social dance from Fringe First, Herald Angel and Olivier Award-Winning Little Bulb.

Try everything from ceilidh to candy, disco to DnB – there’s even a beginner’s guide to moshing! All accompanied by a genre-hopping live band and sprinkled with Little Bulb’s signature theatre magic. A joyous night out that celebrates the past, present and future of social dance.

8th – 10th: Frome Walking Festival

Frome’s annual Walking Festival offers a diverse weekend programme of guided walks, trails and activities for young and old alike. Explore Frome’s history and heritage and the beautiful surrounding countryside in walks ranging from easy afternoon strolls to longer riverside rambles. This year’s programme offers 19 walks over the three day festival, 13 of which are free.

17th: Frome Running Festival

If you prefer a slightly quicker pace than the Walking Festival, why not enter into Frome’s Running Festival, or come along to support? Organised by Runthrough, the festival offers a 5k, 10k and half marathon all in one day. All courses start and finish at the Old Showfield, with the half marathon venturing out into the Somerset countryside whilst the shorter races stay within Frome.
