Your 2026 annual events, wrapped

Happy New Year! We hope you had a wonderful Christmas and are looking forward to another year here in Frome. If you’re wondering what’s coming up for the town, we are lucky to have many talented and committed people who put on a fabulous range of events all through the year, giving everyone the opportunity to enjoy community spirit, creativity, local talent and share the love. Save the date for these upcoming annual events:

January

31st – Donate IT are back for another tech amnesty. If you’ve any spare, unused or old phones, laptops, tablets or other technological equipment, bring them along to the car park at Frome Town Hall on Saturday 31st January, 10am – 1pm. Donate IT will wipe and refurbish old devices to be handed out to those who need them in the community.

February

8th – Wæs hæl! Drinc hæl! Frome’s Wassail returns to Weylands on 8th February at 1:30pm. Head on over to help “wake up” the trees with an old Saxon ritual, including banging pots and pans, toast, cider and wassail sticks. Intrigued? You won’t find out until you go along…

14th – Stacks of Love is a brand new event coming to Frome for 2026! Take part in a hilarious pancake race through the town and enjoy some of their deliciousness afterwards, thanks to local sponsors Andros (producers of the well-loved brand, Bonne Maman). Keep an eye on our website for more information about this event.

14th – Later on that day, the lighting of the Valentine’s lamp returns for another year with its treasured ceremony. An event that has taken place since 1993, this is a ceremony that is loved and cherished within the community, and brings more from further afield to witness the lighting of the lamp. Check Frome Town Council’s Facebook page closer to the time for more information about the lamp lighting on 14th February.

March

14th – 21st – Frome’s popular Window Wanderland event takes place in mid March this year, bringing back the window-framed tour. Stroll around the streets of Frome using the map to find as many window wonders as possible. More details and the map can be found closer to the event, on Window Wanderland’s website.

The same week brings back The Good Heart’s Kindness Festival – yippee! Their objective is to fill our town to the brim with acts of kindness, celebrating the contribution that simply being kind can have on our lives. Keep up-to-date with the festival over on The Good Heart’s website.

More information and tickets will be available later in the year over on the Cheese Show website.

September is a great month for important Frome events – particularly the beloved Frome Carnival! The carnival completely relies on donations to their charity to keep the event going year to year, as well as volunteers to oversee fundraising and the carnival itself. Find out how you could help support Frome Carnival and look out for more information on the Frome Street Carnival website.

November

8th – Every year, Frome commemorates Remembrance with a parade and service. This year, Remembrance Sunday takes place on 8th November, with the parade and service at the Memorial on Christchurch Street West. Frome Town Council’s website will have more information on details closer to the date.

The ever-popular Light the Night will return with festive joy late this year! Complete with a beautifully themed lantern parade and Christmas light switch on, this evening truly kicks off Christmas in Frome. Mel and Aliss run lantern-making workshops every year in the lead up to the event, so make sure to check Frome Lanterns website for workshop details and more information around the night, including the all-important date for your diaries.
