Events Calendar Round-Up: May 2025
Does anybody else feel like April lasted for five minutes? As we head into the month of May, make the most of your weekends and two bank holidays with fun activities in and around Frome.

What’s on this May
1st May – Trio Paradis: Northern Lights
Trio Paradis (Jacquelyn Bevan, Ruth O’Shea and Linda Stocks) return to Christ Church at the beginning of the month for their monthly Café Concert. This month’s theme is ‘Northern Lights’, with a programme of music from Scandinavian composers. There is a pop-up café where you can meet friends, make new ones over tea/coffee and home-made cakes and enjoy the live music.
3rd May – Frome Faerie Fair
The sixth edition of the popular Faerie Fair will be held at Christ Church Hall from 10am – 3pm. There are always lots of stalls selling all sorts of magical wares, from fairy accessories and face painting, to prints and cards, fantasy books and costumes. It is a family friendly event, so bring along all the family and wear your most flamboyant and fabulous costumes.
4th May – Frome Independent Market
Visitors to the market can find contemporary craft, designer-made homewares, ethical clothing and jewellery, have a rummage through vintage nostalgia or browse indoor plants, gardenalia and homewares. Also enjoy fresh seasonal produce from local farmers, growers and producers, from bakes and pastries, to meats, chutneys and preserves.
4th May – Our Prickly Pals: Helping Frome’s Hedgehogs
This talk, presented by Frome’s Keyford Hedgehog Rescue, will briefly look into the reasons for their decline and then spend most of the time looking at how we can help stabilise and even grow the local hedgehog population. Whether you have a garden or not, this talk will let you know how you can become a Frome Hedgehog Hero!
8th – 10th May – FMTC presents: The Addams Family
The Addams Family, a comical feast that embraces the wackiness in every family, features an original story and it’s every father’s nightmare: Wednesday Addams, the ultimate princess of darkness, has grown up and fallen in love with a sweet, smart young man from a respectable family – a man her parents have never met.
10th May – Skate Jam
Frome Skatepark Project, in collaboration with Frome Town Council, are hosting another Skate Jam on Saturday 10th May. Head to the skatepark in the Mary Baily playing field, next to Victoria Park, from 10am – 4pm for free skate lessons, the Skate Jam itself, activities and more.
17th – 23rd May – Wildheart Wellbeing Collective
A week of mindfulness, creativity and connections in the heart of Frome – The fourth Wildheart Wellbeing Collective kicks off at The Round Tower Black Swan Arts on 17th – 23rd May. Join us for free daily mindfulness, breathwork and meditation session, yoga, creative workshops, sound baths, jewellery casting, cacao ceremonies and so much more.
18th May – Frome International Climate Film Festival
The Frome International Climate Film Festival, now in its 4th year, is back at the Cheese and Grain on the 18th May. This year the festival has received over 1000 film entries from over 84 countries, making the festival truly international and recognised throughout the world.
22nd May – A Portrait of Robin Meader Artist
Robin, with the support of Charlotte at OpenStoryTellers and Howard at Frome Media Arts, created a documentary about his life as an artist. It delves into his world and looks at what it’s like working as an artist with a learning disability. He explore his influences, the landscapes around him and the wonderful friends that live in his imagination.
25th May – Frome International Climate Film Festival Awards Celebration Day
A day of celebrations with the award winning films, music, art, workshops, the International Climate Awards and the first UK screening of DreamScapes with Kate Winslet as Mother Earth – not to be missed.
