A witchy tour of Frome

Hello fellow travelers, witches and wizards alike. I’m here to share the witchiest places for you to find your wares, trinkets and more. So grab your familiars as we take to the cobbly streets to soak in the views and visit the local witchy hotspots!

Lets start at Cheap Street, where you can hear the calming leat trickle down. We make our first stop at:

The Haunts Curiosity Shoppe

There are many hidden treasures to unearth and discover in this carefully curated collection of hauntingly magical wares. Frome is a hub of old style folklore and magic, with deep rooted witchcraft ties, leading us to stories of the Selwood Forest Coven and darker links to the original Salem Witch Trials in the 1600’s.

Every witch needs to partake in self-care, which they can also help with as they now offer treatment therapies by masseuse alchemist Benjamin Blak.

Next, lets stock up on books!

They hold plant themed creative workshops in and around the Bath and Frome area. Also offering personal houseplant consultations to homes and offices on which houseplants will work well in a space. These consultations also consider a buyer’s lifestyle and commitment in choosing plants that will really suit them.

Because a witch can never have too many plants!

Next is trinkets. They are a must!

Maybe you are craving some more nature, so let’s head over to lovely Welshmill.

Welshmill

There are walks along the River Frome here at Welshmill, you could also look for the fairy doors here too – you can download a fairy door map here, or pick one up from Frome Town Hall or the Discover Frome Information Point. You can have a picnic on a dry day or listen to the sounds of nature during a moment of mindfulness.

After a long day of venturing out and taking in the views of scenic streets, and embedding ourselves in the town, its time to hop on our brooms and head home. Flying over head, scenes of rolling hills, fields and historic buildings below, we wave farewell but will be back soon.
