Frome’s very own climate film festival
Frome International Climate Film Festival is the world’s first and only dedicated film festival to promote and to support positive climate and environmental films.
Frome International Climate Film Festival – 18th May
The inspiring Frome International Climate Film Festival will be held this year on the 18th May in the Cheese and Grain, starting at 9am and running through to 3pm. The day is free for children and students, adult tickets are £8 or a pay-what-you-can donation. You can also donate on the door.
The day starts with children, family and community activities including:
- Three screens showcasing inspiring films from around the world on climate and the environment
- Kids activities, from printing and face painting to a riverside walk and talk
- Eco art display
- Green gathering and knowledge sharing, with a clothes swap and information from local groups such as Everyone Needs Pockets and Wildheart Wellbeing Collective
- Green technology display
- Live music from local artists
- Climate panel discussion, including local MP Anna Sabine and other key speakers

Ancient Woodland Restoration: The Story of Light and Life – 22nd May
Filmed in the heart of Cornwall’s rare ancient temperate woodlands, this film follows two restoration pioneers as they work to revive some of Britain’s most biodiverse and threatened habitats.
Join us for a special screening, followed by a Q&A with the filmmaker Charly Le Marchant, Mick Bracken of the Woodland Trust and Phil Sturgeon of Protect Earth. An opportunity to delve deeper into the challenges and hope found within these remarkable Cornish woodlands. This film is part of the Frome International Climate Film Festival 2025.

Frome International Climate Film Festival Awards Celebration Day – 25th May
This year, the Climate Film Festival will also be holding their Awards Celebration Day on 25th May at Rook Lane Chapel, running from 10am to 10pm. This day is also free for children and students, adult tickets are £10 or a pay-what-you-can donation. You can also donate on the door.
The Awards Celebration Day includes:
- A main screen showing the award-winning films from this year’s International Climate Film Festival
- The official Frome International Climate Film Festival Awards
- Meditation and sound bath by Wildheart Wellbeing Collective
- Eco art display
- Live music and performances from musicians, poets and other creatives
- UK premier of DreamScapes, narrated by Kate Winslet as Mother Earth
