Sustainable Fashion Week is back this year from 27th September – 5th October, with the Frome Hub hosted by Everyone Needs Pockets. They are offering a brilliant and thought-provoking array of workshops, drop-in sessions and talks for all things sustainable and fashion! Take a look at the overview of what’s on offer his year:

What’s on for Sustainable Fashion Week 2025:

Saturday 27th September – Fashion Reclaimed: Make & Mend Day

Join us at Frome Town Hall for a day of reclaiming our clothes and fabrics through repair, reuse, remaking and refashioning. This is an event for all ages with drop-in activities and bookable workshops. This is also a family friendly event, with children welcome accompanied by a responsible adult.

There are bookable workshops at this event throughout the day, as well as drop-in activities, advice and more:

Saturday 27th September – A Classic Clothes Swap with The Frome Wardrobe Collective

Bring your unloved clothes to Frome Town Hall and swap them for future fashion favourites. All items should be clean and in good condition. Not sure if something’s suitable? Ask yourself: would I be happy to gift this to a friend? If the answer’s yes, it’s perfect for the FWC swap.

Sunday 28th September – Introduction to Visible Mending with Sashiko

Sashiko is a traditional Japanese technique used to reinforce and repair woven fabrics. It’s a beautiful technique steeped in history and there are several ways to add different stitch patterns and strengthen your clothing depending on the area of damage. We’ll be mending in this workshop at Millie Moon in a creative and visible way to celebrate the wear and tear our clothing collects!

Sunday 28th September – Preloved and Vintage Fashion Fair

Retold Fashion Frome are hosting another preloved and vintage fashion fair as part of Sustainable Fashion Week 2025. Held at the Silk Mill, it’s promised to be a room full of great private and business sellers, with a vast selection of preloved and vintage women’s and menswear to choose from.

Sunday 5th October – Nettle and Flax Fair

Hosted by Sewing the Seeds Frome, the fair will held in Rodden Meadow and includes highlights such as tales and demonstrations of sewing, talks on weaving, spinning and nettle twining, songs, stories, and distaff dancing. Be sure to head along to the meadow if you’re interested – all are welcome.
