Spend a very merry weekend in Frome ✨

It’s the last weekend before Christmas… here’s what you can get up to, to make the most of what Frome has to offer:

Your itinerary: Friday 19th December – Sunday 21st December

Friday

Kick off the festivities with an opportunity for some late-night shopping on Cheap Street and King Street from 5pm – 7pm – perfect for picking up a few last bits, or if you’re just getting started with your gift buying. Shops will be open, alongside seasonal snacks and refreshments on offer, music and other entertainment. Step into a Christmas wonderland!

Head to Wildcat Community Sauna after to regroup with a relaxing and revitalising Winter Solstice Guided Sauna. The guided session is from 7pm – 9pm and promises warm cosy fires, icy plunges if you’re feeling brave, ritual and connection under a solstice moon, and a reminder that the days start to lengthen from there on out.

Or if you’d prefer to keep the energy high going into the last weekend before the big day, Gorilla Tactics are hosting their annual Christmas party at the Cheese & Grain, featuring Fish56Octagon and other well-known names. Expect a night of drum & bass, techno, jungle and much more so you can head into your festive weekend with a BANG!

Saturday

Enjoy breakfast at one of Frome’s many spots, like The River House, Projects, Rye Bakery or Cheese & Grain Café Bar, before checking out the Last Minute Gift Fair at the Silk Mill from 10am if you can’t get enough of the Christmas shopping. Saturday is also a great opportunity for a mooch around the rest of the town’s independent shops.

Fancy a cosy afternoon? Head along to Vallis Farm at 3pm for an afternoon of Tales & Tipples with local herbalists Jude Greenan and Olivia Cliff. Enjoy story-telling, tipple-tasting and herbal-liqueur making as a way of unwinding in the lead up to the busy holiday period.

Keep the good vibes flowing with a lively and wonderfully entertaining night of live music at The Tree House with local Pogues tribute band, The P’hogues. It’s sure to be a night of absolute merriment, playing all the well known and loved tunes of the legendary Shane MacGowan and his band.

Sunday

Blow away the cobwebs with a lovely walk around one of Frome’s parks and open spaces – either plan your own route or take some inspiration from our walks pages. Even better if you end up at a local pub or restaurant for a lazy Sunday lunch.

Christmas is the ideal time for theatre, and Frome is full of nothing short of exceptional talent. New Old Friends are bringing their festive comedy, Crimes Against Christmas, to the Merlin Theatre this December – why not book their afternoon performance at 2:30pm on Sunday, or take a look at their other performances.

Now to round off the weekend on a truly special note. Join the crowds at Moo & Two from 5pm for their annual carols and mulled wine celebrations. It’s a beautiful evening of community and festive spirit, and the perfect end to a very merry weekend. ✨

This is just a taster for how you could spend the weekend, but for the full rundown of events, places to eat, shop and more, you can find it right here on Discover Frome.
