Play areas, woods and Frome’s BMX pump track

Along the north bank of the river Frome, just beyond the Canoe Club building, the Welshmill area is one of the best spots for children and young people.

There are woods to explore, an acclaimed pump track, a sand pit and extensive play area.

Getting here

The children’s play area is at the Welshmill Lane end of the site.

You can also get here by following the footpath past the Cheese & Grain and the canoe club; or cut through the woodlands by coming in off Welshmill Road.

Things to do

• Swings, slides and sand
• Exploring in the woods: hide and seek, den-making & make believe!
• Jump higher and ride faster on the pump track – just be aware of the queuing system at busy times
• Walk into town and head back… on The Otherside
• Picnics on lazy, sunny afternoons
