Trio Paradis: Roots

Trio Paradis (Jacquelyn Bevan – piano, Ruth O’Shea – violin & Linda Stocks – cello) play a Café Concert on the first Thursday of each month (Feb-Dec) at 1.15pm at Christ Church: informal feel-good music events with a pop-up café open from c12.45pm where you can meet friends and make new ones over tea/coffee and home-made cakes and listen to live music.

January’s programme is ‘Roots’ – a selection of music by composers of African origin, including Joseph Bologne (Chevalier de St Georges), who was a contemporary of Mozart, English composer Samuel Coleridge-Taylor,  and Americans Florence Price, William Grant Still and Margaret Bonds. Their life stories are as fascinating as their music.

Concerts last c45mins and entrance is by donation. An RSVP via our website is appreciated, but you can just turn up – maybe bring a cushion for the pew!
