The cemetery, established in 1851, has become the last resting place for over 6,200 burials, including ashes; including 12 Commonwealth War Graves and over 260 still-borns. A nature trail is being established and the intention is to make the site, whilst continuing to be a working cemetery, a place for relaxing and contemplation, by visitors to family graves or others just seeking a quiet space. No toilet facilities and only well behaved dogs allowed.
