Voices of Frome: Verity Standen

Local composer Verity Standen has been working with Terrestrial to interview Frome residents with very different life experiences and perspectives on the town. The conversations have been wide-ranging: from daily life to past adventures and ideas for the future.

Verity has then created an original piece of vocal music inspired by each person’s stories. These songs will be performed live for the first time by an ensemble of wonderful singers. Expect rich a cappella harmony and beautiful details of everyday life.

Verity Standen is a composer and choir leader based here in Frome. She has created original music in partnership with community groups across the UK and internationally, from Scottish islands to Shanghai shopping centres, from castles to hospital wards.
