Frome Storytelling Circle – October session

Frome Storytelling Circle is a monthly local group for practicing the art of traditional oral storytelling in a friendly, relaxed setting.

The shapes of the stories may be old, but the behaviours they describe and the lessons they teach are as common and as applicable nowadays as they ever were. Each teller has their own style and their own tone and they tell a given story in their own way.

We welcome all sorts of stories told from memory: folktales, fairy tales, myths, legends, contemporary and personal. Stories should be limited to 10 minutes, and there is no need to book a slot in advance.

All tellers are welcome, from experienced yarn spinners to newcomers who would like to have a try at this oldest art.

Listeners are very welcome – what is a story without an audience? There is no pressure to tell a story, and we love welcoming good listeners into the space.

Attendance is free, though we welcome cash donations on the night to help cover the cost of room hire and poster printing.

Frome Storytelling Circle is hosted and organised by Bridget, Lesley, Mike, Ruth and Steph. We meet upstairs in The Three Swans pub – so grab a drink at the bar, come up and join us.
