Sun Machine are no strangers to live shows in Frome, having performed several support slots at the Cheese and Grain for the likes of Wishbone Ash, Argent, The Strawbs, Stackridge, Colin Blunstone and even John Otway & Wild Willy Barrett.
Comprising Bev May (vocals), Tim Clayton (guitars), Russell Cooze (bass) and Colin Pearce (drums) and recently reformed after a long hiatus, they are bringing their brand of dynamic, exciting rock music with an alternative edge to the Tree House.
Original songs, drawn from the well of hard-won personal experience, inspired by and reflecting the bands influences from Led Zeppelin to Jeff Buckley, PJ Harvey, Neil Young, Pretenders, The Police and even Muse. It’s music for the heart AND music for the soul, made from light and shadows; melody and melancholy; noise and beauty; love and anger.
They have a great live reputation from iconic venues including the Fleece and the Louisiana in Bristol and at Festivals including the Bearded Theory. Their album, ‘Silver Wires’ is still available on Spotify and Apple Music.
“Just when I was thinking all the great songs had already been written and originality was going t be an increasingly difficult act to come up with, along came Sun Machine”
“…an addictive dish served up with oozing atmospheric sounds and tightly composed, lyrically wonderful songs”.
