The Cheese & Grain (charity no. 1108074) is an iconic independent venue located in the heart of Frome, Somerset. The venue is a dynamic hub for live music, community events, amd the cultural heartbeat of the area.

Since 1998, the Cheese & Grain has brought a historic market hall to life as a cornerstone of the South West’s creative and community scene. We present a packed programme of events from world-class gigs, to bustling markets, laugh-filled comedy nights, inspiring workshops, captivating exhibitions, and activities for all ages.

As well as our main hall and café bar, we operate smaller creative spaces, including our professional recording studio, the Bert Jansch Studio, and intimate grassroots sister venue, The Tree House.
