Clandestine Mazurka Balfolk Jam Session

Balfolk is a variety of traditional and modern dances to the folk music of continental Europe, including ceilidh-style dances, Bourrées, Mazurkas, Waltzes, and Schottisches. Rokia Koné + Mohamed Errebbaa

Rokia Koné, one of Mali's most beloved artists and a member of supergroup Les Amazones d'Afrique, blends griot-infused vocals with Malian guitar and West African percussive pulse, reconnecting with her roots. The concert opens with master Moroccan gnawa musician Mohamed Errebbaa's captivating trance vocals and guembri accompaniment.

A Russian-themed programme by Frome Symphony, directed by Mark Gateshill, features Shostakovich's exhilarating Festive Overture and Prokofiev's powerful 5th Symphony, a wartime masterpiece blending grandeur. Arabella Thornton, a talented local young violinist, is the soloist in Mozart's Violin Concerto No.4, a piece rich in elegance and virtuosity.
