Trio Paradis (Jacquelyn Bevan – piano, Ruth O’Shea – violin & Linda Stocks – cello) play a Café Concert on the first Thursday of each month at 1.15pm at Christ Church: a themed 45-minute concert of mainly classical music, introduced by the performers. There is a pop-up café open from 12.45pm where you can meet friends and make new ones over tea/coffee and home-made cakes.
‘What’s in a Name?’ explores the theme of names from two angles: individuals who have inspired particular pieces of music, with musical portraits of Sylvia, Margaret, Susan, Jennifer and Mr Belloc; and composers with amusing or unfortunate names – works by Gelinek, Schytte and others…
There’s no need to book, though an RSVP via our website www.trioparadis.com is appreciated. Turn up early to be sure of a table, as these concerts are popular… Trio Paradis Cafe Concerts are ‘pay-what-you-feel’ via a retiring collection, to keep live music affordable for everyone.
