The Ash Girl

Encore Productions in association with Frome College Proudly Presents: The Ash Girl.

Forget the glass slippers and the sugar-sweet fairy tales you think you know. Feb 2027 Encore Productions at Frome College invite you into the woods for a spellbinding, contemporary reimagining of the Cinderella story.

Written by the acclaimed playwright Timberlake Wertenbaker, The Ash Girl is a dark, powerful, and deeply moving journey through temptation, self-doubt, and ultimate resilience. In this gripping adaptation, Ashgirl doesn’t just contend with a cruel stepmother and conniving stepsisters—she must also face the monsters lurking in the shadows. Surrounded by the personified Seven Deadly Sins and the haunting spectre of Sadness, Ashgirl must fight her inner demons to find her own voice, true identity, and sense of self-worth.

Brimming with atmospheric staging, eccentric costumes, and a fiercely talented ensemble cast of students, this production strips away the classic fantasy to deliver a raw, relevant story for our times.

This amateur production of THE ASH GIRL is presented by arrangement with Concord Theatricals Ltd. on behalf of Samuel French, Ltd. www.concordtheatricals.co.uk
