In 2018, six artists gathered at the Jazz Café in Camden to celebrate the music of John Martyn. What began as a one-off tribute became something far more meaningful: an evening of deep connection, not only to John’s extraordinary catalogue, but also to the passionate community brought together by his music.
From that night, The John Martyn Project was born: an ongoing celebration of one of Britain’s most pioneering and singular musical voices.
Each member brings their own story, influence, and relationship with John’s music. Together, they honour his legacy through heartfelt performances, while continuing to gather the memories, insights, and personal connections shared by audiences wherever they play.
The John Martyn Project is more than a tribute band; it is a living celebration of a remarkable artist whose music continues to inspire, comfort, and connect people across generations.
With gratitude to John, and to everyone who finds a home in his music.
