From forest bathing to making ferments\, each bridge we build between the natural world and ourselves is a step further towards creating healthy habits which are good for both mind and body. \nJoin Alex from Somerset Kimchi and Kraut and Tamsin\, Head of Land and Learning at Vallis Farm on this one day workshop to learn about how healthy soils work\, the impact of gardening on both physical and mental health\, and how we can make simple changes for big benefits. Expect a gentle walk through our forest garden and local woodland to see what plants we can forage and grow to improve our gut biome. You’ll be getting your hands in the soil and learning how there are direct links between our interactions with the earth\, our food and our happiness. \nWe will then enjoy a super healthy and delicious lunch together before learning how to make ferments both for ourselves and our gardens. DESCRIPTION:Join us for an unhurried evening at Vallis Farm\, exploring what happens on the land after daylight fades. \nWe’ll begin at 8pm with supper together in the kitchen garden\, sharing a simple\, seasonal meal and a glass of wine. As the light starts to change\, ecologist Rob Frith will introduce the wildlife we’re likely to encounter and what makes this time of day so important for many species. \nAt sunset\, we’ll head out on a guided walk around the farm\, focusing on the creatures that emerge after dark. With Rob’s expertise\, we’ll look and listen for bats\, moths\, amphibians such as newts\, and other nocturnal life that often goes unnoticed. The walk will also explore how farming practices and landscape features support wildlife through the night. If conditions are right\, we may be lucky enough to spot barn owls hunting over the fields. \nThe evening will finish around 11pm\, offering a chance to slow down\, tune in\, and see the farm from a very different perspective. \nA relaxed and informative event for anyone interested in ecology\, wildlife\, and the rhythms of the land — no specialist knowledge required\, just curiosity.

DESCRIPTION:90 minutes of space to relax and let go of the busy-ness of pregnancy. \nIt’s so helpful to have time and space to pause when you’re pregnant\, whether it’s your first birth or you have little ones at home – taking a moment to let go of the day-to-day\, to rest and be can give you vital moments to adapt to your changing body and life\, and connect to your growing baby. \nNo experience necessary\, this is suitable for all stages of pregnancy. You will be guided through several rounds of mindful meditation and there will be time for a chat at the end. \nThese sessions run monthly\, either in Frome or online.
