SUMMARY:Straighten Out – Stranglers tribute live at The Tree House
DESCRIPTION:STRAIGHTEN OUT are the world’s premier Stranglers tribute band with an extensive set-list that spans two solid hours as they re-create the ‘early years’ sound of The Stranglers\, complete with a Hammond organ and Minimoog synth; the same models used by Mr. Greenfield himself\, back in the day! \nThe growling bass sound and the quirky guitar riffs are all there to be heard as is the dual vocal ‘attack’ from the two frontmen a-la Burnel/Cornwell as they rip through the Stranglers’ classic: ‘Peaches’\, ‘Hanging Around’\, ‘No More Heroes’\, ‘5 Minutes’\, ‘The Raven’\, ‘Walk On By’\, ‘Straighten Out’\, ‘Down In The Sewer’ and many more as they cover the Stranglers’ early classic albums and beyond. \nStraighten Out will take you on a nostalgia trip that transports you back to those raw\, powerful\, exhilarating times when The Stranglers emerged through the quagmire of mediocrity to produce some of the finest music ever written. Straighten Out will put you back in that place! \nBassist Shaggy and keyboard player Mick (‘The Doc’) were together in previous Stranglers tribute band ‘Four More Heroes’ and it was only natural that these two continued on after their demise to form ‘Straighten Out’ given their love of Stranglers music and the desire to keep playing live. They set the platform with the growling bass and swirling keyboard sound so essential to reproducing the authentic Stranglers sound. Joining them are Jet ‘Beets’ Beety on drums and Phil Harvey steps up to give you the ‘Hugh’ element to complete the fearsome foursome. \nStraighten Out are a must-see tribute band! \nPlease note this is an 18+ all-standing event\, and the venue is accessed by stairs with no lift. SUMMARY:The Bob Villains – Live At The Tree House
DESCRIPTION:In 1966\, Bob Dylan toured the UK. Each night began with a solo acoustic set\, before Dylan returned to the stage backed by a full electric band. Some in the audience loved the change; others did not. At the Free Trade Hall in Manchester\, one voice rang out above the rest\, famously shouting “Judas!” Dylan’s response was immediate and legendary: “I don’t believe you!”\,  before instructing the band to play louder. \nExactly years to the day\, The Bob Villains mark this iconic moment in music history\, with a special show at The Tree House\, Frome. This is truly one not to miss. \nCovering Dylan’s career from his early 1960s acoustic work\, through the electric years and his many stylistic reinventions\, The Bob Villains have spent over a decade presenting his music with the respect and depth it deserves. These five musicians capture the spirit\, power\, and poetry of Dylan’s songs without gimmicks or imitation. \nTheir extensive repertoire includes favourites such as Mr Tambourine Man\, All Along the Watchtower\, Forever Young\, Like a Rolling Stone\, Hurricane\, One More Cup of Coffee\, Knockin’ on Heaven’s Door\, Quinn the Eskimo\, Lay Lady Lay and You’re a Big Girl Now\, alongside deeper cuts from the Dylan songbook including It’s Alright Ma (I’m Only Bleeding)\, Chimes of Freedom and Silvio. \nThis year also marks 60 years since the release of the iconic double album Blonde on Blonde\, with a selection of songs from that record featured in the show. \nWith Dylan still touring in his 80s\, we are proud to celebrate the man and his music. The Bob Villains are a tribute\, not a tribute act\, no wigs\, no funny voices\, just 100% Bob Dylan’s music\, played with passion and authenticity. \nFor more information\, photos and videos\, visit\nwww.thebobvillains.com \n“Truly amazing – when you closed your eyes it could have been Bob singing.” \n“This band interprets the music with an obvious deep respect for the source material.” \n“Thanks for an amazing night. I’ll make sure I see you again in the not-too-distant future.” \nPlease note this is an 18+ all standing event\, and the venue is accessed by stairs with no lift. SUMMARY:Far-Cue 30th Anniversary Show – Live At The Tree House
DESCRIPTION:Thirty years ago\, in 1996\, Far-Cue kicked open the doors of a sleepy Somerset town and have never looked back since. \nBorn out of frustration\, fuelled by cheap beer and a refusal to watch music become polite\, Far-Cue set out to do one simple thing: make gigs fun again. What was meant to last a month has become a three-decade charge at the heart of Frome’s music scene\, louder\, faster\, and more defiant with every passing year. \nFOREVER AT THE FOREFRONT\nFor 30 years\, Far-Cue haven’t just been part of Frome’s scene; they have been the ones shaping what it means to be a Frome band.\nThey are the only band to have played every single Frome Punk Festival\, because how can you have a punk festival in Frome without Far-Cue? The one constant in a scene that has grown and evolved around them\, while others have come and gone they have always been leading the charge. From sweat-soaked pub floors to sold-out shows at the Cheese and Grain with the likes of Stiff Little Fingers\, and even Glastonbury Festival\, Far-Cue have been there and seen it all. \nAlways A Pleasure\, Never A Chore!\nAlbums recorded in single blasts.\nSongs written at breakneck speed.\nNo gloss. No polish. No compromise. \nFrom Ta through to Another Day At The Office\, Far-Cue’s back catalogue is a testament to sheer bloody-minded persistence. Line-up changes\, break-ups\, make-ups\, broken strings\, broken bones\, none of it stopped them. Because stopping was never the point. \nGigsgigsgigs. Bedrooms. Bike shows. Festivals. The lot. \nIf your boat doesn’t come in\, swim out and meet it\, and Far-Cue have been swimming for three decades. \n30 YEARS. ONE BAND. ONE TOWN.\nThis isn’t just an anniversary show.\nIt’s a celebration of Far-Cue’s undying spirit.\nOf every sticky-floored venue.\nOf every kid who picked up a guitar because they saw Far-Cue and thought\, “That looks like a laugh.” \nThirty years on\, they’re still here. \nStill loud.\nStill real.\nStill Frome’s. \nFar-Cue: 30 Years of Noise. \nAnd they’re not done yet\, if that isn’t worth celebrating\, then we really don’t know what is!  \nPlease note this is an 18+ all standing event\, and the venue is accessed by stairs with no lift.
