DESCRIPTION:Mongolian Khöömii Overtone Singing/Voicing Workshop\nled by Michael Ormiston & Candida Valentino\n10am – 5pm Saturday 21st February 2026\nAt The Sonic Retreat Centre\, Frome\, BA11 3NG \nLearn an authentic traditional Mongolian technique.\nListen to your own overtones as you discover the unknown depths and heights of your voice. \nOpen to anyone who wishes to explore the harmonic nature of their voice. \nMichael and Candida are the UK’s leading teachers and practitioners of Mongolian Khöömii overtone voicing/singing and have been leading Khöömii workshops internationally for over 30 years. \nCost £110 \nOnly 8 PLACES so please contact us ormi_khoomii@yahoo.com or candidavalentino@yahoo.co.uk for information and booking \nKhöömii is an amazing style of overtone/undertone or harmonic/subharmonic voicing/singing where one person appears to sing two or more distinct pitches at the same time. It originates among the nomads of the central Asian plateau\, particularly the Altai and Sayan mountain regions of Mongolia and Tyva. \nDuring the workshop we will begin to learn aspects of Tagnain Khőőmii\, which will aid in exploring and listening to the overtones in our own voices\, and discovering unknown depths and heights in our singing. Learning materials and exercises will be provided for independent study and practice\, enabling each participant to get the maximum benefit from the face to face tuition.
