DESCRIPTION:This show was originally scheduled for 30th May but was postponed to 17th October due to band illness.  \nSTRAIGHTEN OUT are the world’s premier Stranglers tribute band with an extensive set-list that spans two solid hours as they re-create the ‘early years’ sound of The Stranglers\, complete with a Hammond organ and Minimoog synth; the same models used by Mr. Greenfield himself\, back in the day! \nThe growling bass sound and the quirky guitar riffs are all there to be heard as is the dual vocal ‘attack’ from the two frontmen a-la Burnel/Cornwell as they rip through the Stranglers’ classic: ‘Peaches’\, ‘Hanging Around’\, ‘No More Heroes’\, ‘5 Minutes’\, ‘The Raven’\, ‘Walk On By’\, ‘Straighten Out’\, ‘Down In The Sewer’ and many more as they cover the Stranglers’ early classic albums and beyond. \nStraighten Out will take you on a nostalgia trip that transports you back to those raw\, powerful\, exhilarating times when The Stranglers emerged through the quagmire of mediocrity to produce some of the finest music ever written. DESCRIPTION:Punk poet\, latterly dub poet\, singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Attila the Stockbroker exploded into public consciousness in 1982-3 via two John Peel sessions and a Melody Maker front cover and is now celebrating 44 years earning a living doing what he loves. So far: 4000 gigs in 24 countries\, some 20 CD/s LPs\, ten books of poems\, his autobiography ‘Arguments Yard’ (Cherry Red Books\, 2015) and his collected works ‘Heart on my Sleeve’ (Cherry Red Books\, 2021) \nHis latest and 10th book of poetry\, ‘Fiery Words for Hellish Times’ was published by Flapjack Press on 13th March. It is searingly topical: the title says it all. And a few months ago his ninth\, ‘A Lifetime of Football Writing (Poems\, Songs & Stories’)’ was published in Finland and is now available in the UK. \nAttila’s current solo performance comprises fiery\, satirical\, political and personal spoken word\, dub poetry\, acoustic songs and early music punk on ancient instruments. He really doesn’t sound like anything else. He’s very prolific and his material is very\, very up to date. In 2024 he did a 14 day run at the Edinburgh PBH Free Fringe called ’14 Days\, 14 Completely Different Shows’ and he reckons he’s got another six hours or so of material to choose from! \nHis latest music album\, endorsed by his old friend\, the now sadly departed Ben Zephaniah\, is a dub poetry collection ’40 Years In Rhyme’ with rhythms from Kingsley Salmon and What’s Left Dub. The previous one\, 2018’s ‘Restoration Tragedy’ recorded with his band Barnstormer 1649\, combines early music and punk – a lifelong ambition – with tales of the English Revolution of 1649.

The band quickly began to combine everything we all love about 1990s/2000s punk rock with classic and hit songs like you’ve never heard before. From the epic-ness of Meat Loaf to the soaring power of a Disney ballad\, nothing is off limits to them. \nPunk Rock Factory rehearse\, write\, record\, mix\, and film everything themselves in their studio called ‘The Sausage Factory’ with a heavy focus on digital content. With an online following of almost a million fans spread across the world’s most popular social media platforms (TikTok making up a huge 500k of those) they show no signs of slowing down. They frequently bring friends along to their music to enjoy the fun and to date the band has had guest performances from members of acts such as Protest the Hero\, Bowling for Soup\, Ice Nine Kills\, Mest\, Rufio\, Ten Foot Pole\, Zebrahead aswell as Encanto star Jessica Darrow and many more. \nShortly after the success of their first album ‘The Wurst Is Yet To Come’ the band got to work on their second album ‘A Whole New Wurst’ in 2020 throughout UK lockdown. Consisting entirely of Disney classics with their unique punk rock twist it became an instant success. In only two months the album gained over 2.4 million streams and reached #48 in the UK album download charts. \nNow with four albums\, their first ever live show (a festival appearance at Bloodstock Open Air to a capacity crowd of 7000 people) under their belts\, PRF set out on their first UK tour. Selling out many of the shows including venues in London\, Cardiff\, Manchester and Birmingham\, they brought their passion and party spirit right to the stage\, garnering rave reviews of their live performances and showmanship from all over the country.
