Camps & Clubs running throughout the summer

Springmead SchoolchildrenSpringmead School Holiday Club – 18th July t0 2nd September

Springmead’s holiday club runs from 8am – 3.30pm (care is available until 6pm) Monday to Friday, for children aged 3 – 9.

Nova Sport in the ParkNova Sports and Coaching Holiday Activities – various dates between 25th July & 26th August

Nova provide unique opportunities for fun and inclusive sports activity for children with additional needs and their siblings. A variety of sports are available for booking including bouldering, hydrotherapy, powerchair football, multi sports and gymnastics.

Multi sports camp - Premier EducationSummer Holiday Multi-Sports Camps – 25th July t0 19th August

Premier Education Multi-Sport introduces children to a wide variety of sports, including basketball, football and tennis to name just a few. It’s a huge, exciting session with more sports than you can kick a ball at.
For 5-12 year olds. Monday – Friday. Prices start at £13. Funded spaces available.

close up on football bootsIG Sports Holiday Camps – 25th July to 2nd September

IG Sports are hosting holiday clubs and camps which are open to children of all abilities aged between 5 – 11 throughout the summer. Camps run Monday – Friday 9am – 3pm (early drop off & late pick up options are available at an additional cost).
Camps take place at Selwood Academy, Hayesdown, Leigh on Mendip and Mells.

Hidden Woods forest schoolHidden Woods Forest School Holiday Clubs – 25th July to 25th August

Get the kids outside for a chance to have a go at bushcraft, environmental art, woodland crafts and games, campfire cooking, journeying through the woods and of course, free play.
Sessions run Monday-Thursday, 10am to 4pm. For 8-13 year olds.

Deer tribe summer forest school posterDeer Tribe Summer Forest School – 25th July to 2nd September

Experience fire challenges, cooking, den building, green crafts, leatherwork, bows & arrows, storytelling, games, songs and more at the Deer tribe forest school this summer.
Monday to Friday for children aged 4-12.

Liberty Gymnastics summer camp posterLiberty Gymnastics Club Summer Holiday Fun Day – 26th July to 25th August

Gymnastics, trampolining, arts & crafts and outdoor  play (weather permitting), downtime film and games etc
The fun days run Tuesday-Thursday.

Summer forest clubSummer Forest Club – 27th-28th July, 1st-4th & 8th-12th August

Parent-free adventures, joyfully full of shelter building, fire making, cooking delicious food together over the fire, wood craft, storytelling and, of course, lots of games – with time built in to chill out under the canopy of the trees in a ‘woodland camp’ nestled within the grounds of the 42 Acres retreat, near Witham Friary. For ages 6+.

Multi-Sports Courses for boys and girls aged 5-13,  providing the opportunity to enjoy and develop skills in a wide range of sports including basketball, football, dodgeball, tag rugby, catchball, handball, cricket and rounders.
The sessions run 8.30am-4.30pm, Monday – Friday. Funded spaces available.

Football factoryThe Football Fun Factory – 1st-5th, 15-19th & 29th-31st August

A unique day full of fun activities on amazing inflatables as well as other fun games that may not include football!
For ages 4-12. Funded spaces available.

Rugby Tots Superskills PosterRugby Tots Super Skills Camp – 2nd to 5th August

Get active outdoors with the Rugby Tots super skills camp with a rugby theme! Each day is developed around learning to play as a team. Pro coaches work through a programme of team skills and challenges, fun games, catching and passing ball skills, along with arts and crafts time.
Open to 4-10 year olds. Funded spaces available.

Children playing with a robotNext Thing Education Tech Camp – 15th to 26th August

A unique camp for 5-11 year olds offering a broad range of tech activities for children of all skill levels. The Tech Camp introduces advanced concepts of coding through playful projects and puzzles. Exploring Engineering, Circuity, Gamified Learning, Coding and more.
Please note: This camp is only available to HAF funded children.

Marston Park Mud & GutsMud & Guts – 25th July

Outdoor adventure company Mud and Guts teaches children how to safely build dens, light campfires and have lots of fun in the woods! The captivating combination of bushcraft, natural world education and good old fashioned games keeps young minds and bodies engaged and enthralled!  Morning workshop for ages 6–9 and afternoon for ages 10-12.

Super Roots play days posterSuper Roots – Play Wild – 26th-28th July

Join Super Roots for 3 days of adventure play in a rewilded quarry setting. Collaborative build, create and play with natural or recycled materials in and around trees, outdoor art, foraging, fire cooking, games, circus skills, nature exploring and more.
For ages 6-12.

Jackdaws summer productionJackdaws Summer Production – 1st to 5th August

The Jackdaws Summer Production is a fun, stimulating and exciting way for children aged 10 years and over to spend a week in the summer holidays discovering how to create a show from scratch.

Doodles & ScribblesChildren’s Poetry and Illustration Summer Workshop – 8th/9th August

Join author Lucy Reynolds and illustrator Jenna Herman for a day of nature-themed workshops in the magical setting of Marston Park! Finding inspiration from the beauty of nature around us, the children will learn techniques to help turn these ideas into poetry and illustrations.

Frome Town Band summer school posterFrome Town Band Summer School – 11th to 12th August

Join Frome Town Band for a two day summer school. All ages and abilities welcome, with some instruments available to borrow.

Sing 2Sing 2 Musical Theatre Workshop – 16th August

A “Sing 2” themed musical theatre workshop for children of reception age and over where the children will have the opportunity to learn some songs and dance movements.

Tri Art dance camp posterTri Art Summer Dance Camp – 22nd to 24th August

Over three days, children will get the opportunity to try out different dance styles including ballet, tap, jazz, street, acrobatic arts and musical theatre. For children of reception age and up.

Frome library lego clubFrome Library Summer Programme

Frome library has a variety of activities running regularly throughout the summer including Baby Boogie for under 1s (Tuesdays at 11am); Toddler Time for 1 to 3 year olds  (Tuesdays at 10am and Fridays at 11am); Lego Club for all ages, alternate Saturdays at 11am.

All children under 8 must be accompanied by an adult.

Palette-and-Pasture-Round-Bale-Trail-PeacockPalette & Pasture Round Bale Trail – running until 19th August

A Round Bale Trail with the theme ‘Animals that fly’, which takes you on a walk of approximately 1km. Complete your puzzle sheet and hand it in at the end to claim your trail gift. Open Tuesday – Sunday.

Hayesdown PTA Scarecrow Trail 2022 posterHayesdown PTA Scarecrow Trail 2022 – 25th-31st July

Hayesdown’s annual scarecrow trail returns and this time, you and your family will be on the search for well known children’s nursery rhymes. Scarecrows will be outside or in windows of houses as per the trail map from Monday 25th July to Sunday 31st July, between 9am and 6pm. The trail is located in housing estates surrounding Hayesdown and the Stonebridge/Proutings estate areas and is bike, buggy and scooter friendly.

Come along and listen to The Very Hungry Caterpillar told in an interactive way. Then you and your child will have the opportunity to create your own characters and props from the story using creative materials provided.
For children aged 3+.

Two Summer arts and crafts sessions open to children aged 2-10 years and their adults. Dress for mess and bring your imagination!

Alice in Wonderland illustrationAlice in Wonderland – 30th July

Folksy Theatre present the classic tale Alice in Wonderland. Come along and meet some of the strangest and most peculiar characters, including the mysterious Cheshire Cat, the Wacky Mad Hatter and the foul-tempered Queen of Hearts! Filled with live music and puppetry, it’s the perfect show for the whole family.

Enjoy an hour of music making as a family in a relaxed environment, exploring sounds of instruments and making music together. There will be fun musical activities for parents / carers and children to explore together, no previous music experience required. The session is aimed at children aged 4-11 years.

Join this fun and interactive session in Rodden Meadow for the last chance to take part in this year’s Big Butterfly Count and learn how to support our own Frome Community Wildlife Mapping project.

Visit Palette and Pasture and see if you can conquer the clues and make your way out of the giant maize Maze Ice Cream! Open Tuesday – Sunday plus Bank Holiday Monday.

Journey ‘Under the Sea’, to enjoy Frome’s award-winning youth theatre group, Spellbounds’s production of this popular story with lots of famous songs, great dancing and fantastic costumes!

This practical workshop is for children and adults to come and explore the wonders of growing from seed.  You’ll have a go at growing vegetables and flowers, as well as learn how to attract wildlife into your garden.

Illyria theatre Peter PanPeter Pan – 6th August

Illyria return to the area, this time to the historic Manor Farm in Corsley, with their production of the classic story Peter Pan. This enchanting family tale will delight audiences of all ages. Laugh, applaud, sing along and watch the magic unfold!

Join Frome Town Council’s Resilience Officer Jo Morris at the Old Showfield for a pollinator-themed picnic. Jo will chat about the importance of pollinating insects and there will be a chance to engage in some fun wildlife themed activities.

Frome Children’s Festival returns with over 30 different activities including zip wires across the river, theatre shows, forest school, green-screen special effects filming, a sensory room, BMX workshops, magic, seated volleyball, frame football, model making with Aardman and a visit from a dragon!

Join Frome Town Council’s Resilience Officer Jo Morris to investigate the wildlife at the new pond in Welshmill. Try out some pond-dipping methods, learn about amphibians and explore the variety of insects and their larva in and around the pond.

Join Somerset Skills & Learning for their free Art in the Park family fun day and picnic! Workshops, suitable for children ages 3 to 8 include creative storytelling, music making and creative art.

Brickin’ It is bringing the Southwest’s best builders to Frome, showing their unique builds. Lego sellers and traders will be on hand, whether for whole kits or that little piece you need.
