DESCRIPTION:The Black Swan Arts Open 2026 brings together artists and makers working across all disciplines and media\, selected by a distinguished panel from across the contemporary arts\, alongside a range of generous prizes and awards. \nThe Open is Black Swan Arts’ flagship exhibition\, bringing together artists at different stages of their careers from the region and beyond. DESCRIPTION:Trio Paradis (Jacquelyn Bevan – piano\, Ruth O’Shea – violin & Linda Stocks – cello) play a Café Concert on the first Thursday of each month at 1.15pm at Christ Church: a themed 45-minute concert of mainly classical music\, introduced by the performers. There is a pop-up café open from 12.45pm where you can meet friends and make new ones over tea/coffee and home-made cakes. \nTango! traces the development of the iconic South American dance\, from its origins in the ports of Argentina and Uruguay during the last quarter of the 19th century to its transition to the twentieth century concert hall and music theatre. \nThere’s no need to book\, though an RSVP via our website www.trioparadis.com is appreciated. DESCRIPTION:Welcome to Fromography’s first analogue photo walk! This is a welcoming and relaxed walk to celebrate worldwide Half-Frame Photography Day. \nThis walk is open to everyone\, but especially the photography community in Frome\, along with anyone from nearby Bath\, Bristol\, Somerset\, and Wiltshire. \nThe walk will be approx 3.5km and will start at Frome Train Station\, heading through town before ending at nearby Victoria Park\, where there’s a café and nice space for a picnic. \nYou don’t have to bring a half-frame camera; any film camera will be great! But if you’d like recommendations or want to purchase a half-frame camera before the walk\, please get in touch with @fromography on Instagram or email mae@fromography.co.uk \nBring a camera and some film\, maybe bring a friend\, and come hang out with other photographers and explore the lovely town of Frome. The event is free to attend\, but please kindly book a ticket so we know you’ll be there!

We reclaim Frome’s high street once a month to showcase the best independent craftspeople\, designers\, makers\, food producers and vintage traders in the South West. \nThe market takes place on the first Sunday of the month from March to December and strives to be ‘more than a market’\, incorporating live music\, DJs\, street performance\, workshops and activities for children and adults alike on market days. \nThe market is a free event for visitors and has quickly grown to be one of the most significant elements in the region’s calendar attracting over 80\,000 visitors each year. \nVisitors to the market can find contemporary craft\, designer-made homewares\, ethical clothing and jewellery in our Designer-Maker section\, discover fledgling design start-ups in our Suitcase Sale\, have a rummage through vintage nostalgia in our Flea Market or browse indoor plants\, gardenalia and homewares in our Homes & Gardens section. Food lovers can discover local produce from cheese and cider to vegan cakes and kimchi. We work with Somerset Farmers Markets who curate a section for farmers\, growers and producers. There’s also a huge and vibrant range of street food to choose from.
