Grown ups only though sorry\, no children or babies. \nQigong (pronounced chee-gong) is a gentle mind–body practice from Chinese tradition that combines slow\, flowing movement\, breathing\, and focused attention to support health and wellbeing.\nIt’s often described as working with your “qi” (energy)—helping it move smoothly through the body.\nSessions can include:\nSoft\, rhythmic movements (similar to slow dance or Tai Chi)\nBreathwork to calm the nervous system\nStillness or meditation\nPeople use Qigong to improve balance\, flexibility\, relaxation\, and overall energy\, and it’s accessible to most abilities—even seated. \nJayne James is a Qigong instructor with a background in musculoskeletal health within the NHS\, which enhances and informs her approach to practice.\nHer practice is rooted in empowering individuals to take an active role in their wellbeing through breath\, movement and awareness.\nPracticing for over six years with a Grand Master and certified through intensive instructor programmes\, she guides flowing sessions that calm the mind\, release tension and restore balance within the body and emotions.\nShe currently teaches in her home village of Nunney supporting a diverse range of clients in cultivating resilience\, clarity and a deeper connection to themselves through this powerful\, meditative practice.

DESCRIPTION:As part of the wider “Frome Connects” project in May\, Mojo Moves founder Ginny Adams is hosting a free to attend Kate Bush Flash Mob on the town’s famous Catherine Hill. \nDress up as the legend that is Bush (in the Running Up That Hill video) and join us for an impromptu dance on the hill to the track “Running Up That Hill”.\nYou can come as you are and just do your own thing or learn the simple choreography which will be offered at live rehearsals throughout May\, as well as being available on video via the Facebook event and on the Mojo Moves website. No actual running required. \nAfter the track has played once through\, we will head down the hill along Palmer Street and to the entrance of the formidable St John’s Church where head bell ringer Tony Hodges will lead his fellow campanologists in ringing out the tune – which has seen a resurgence due to cult TV show Stranger Things – on the bells which date back to the 17th and 18th Centuries! Ding dong! \nCome and join us and be a part of something legendary. \nFrome Connects is a town-wide\, people-powered experiment built around connectedness.

SUMMARY:Whole town drone shot - Frome Connects
DESCRIPTION:As part of the Frome Connects project\, we have organised for the hugely talented photographer Chris Bailey to take a town wide drone photograph shot on Saturday the 30th May at around 12.30. \nThe idea is for as many residents\, shop workers\, pub goers and anyone else visiting the town at the time\, heads out of their buildings and look skywards so that we can capture them for posterity. We obviously also invite anyone who doesn’t live in the town centre to head into town for the pic to be taken.\nThink of it like looking for the solar eclipse\, a collective lifting of heads to see beyond your everyday existence and help to create a photographic document of a moment captured in time. \nWe hope to be able to offer pre-ordered prints for sale after the event so you can play “Where’s Wally” trying to spot your friends\, family\, yourself\, the dog and maybe even Frodo the town cat. \nCome on Frome! DESCRIPTION:The Phoenix Project – Summer Holiday Art Sessions\n9:30am – 3:00pm | Ages 7–14 | £30 per session\nAvailable dates:\nMonday 3rd & Tuesday 4th August\nMonday 10th & Tuesday 11th August\nMonday 17th & Tuesday 18th August\nThursday 27th & Friday 28th August \nSpend a day getting creative in the most inspiring of settings! Join us at The Phoenix Project — a beautiful acre of land with woodland\, cabins\, hammocks and a stream — for a full day of art\, nature and adventure this summer. \nEach session\, young people aged 7–14 will explore a different artistic medium in the great outdoors\, from willow weaving and mosaic to batik and natural mandalas. No experience is needed — just curiosity and a sense of adventure. Our sessions are designed to inspire creativity in every child\, whatever their background or ability.\nAs well as making amazing art\, there’ll be campfires\, outdoor games and plenty of time to explore the site. We ask everyone to bring a packed lunch\, and there are compost loos on site.\nWhat to bring:\n🎒 Packed lunch and plenty to drink\n👕 Old clothes you don’t mind getting messy \nSessions run from 9:30am to 3:00pm. Please ensure children are collected promptly.\n£30 per child\, per session. Book your place below — spaces are limited!
