Yet for many of us\, it has increasingly become another area of pressure\, something we should be doing “properly\,” keeping up with\, or fixing ourselves through. \nThis interactive workshop offers a different way in. \nLed by wellbeing writer\, podcaster and coach Claire Fitzsimmons\, this session invites you to explore what wellbeing looks like when it’s rooted in kindness\, compassion\, and curiosity rather than self-improvement or constant striving. Instead of asking what needs to change\, we’ll gently explore what needs care. \nThrough guided reflection\, conversation\, and simple\, accessible exercises\, you’ll be supported to rethink your relationship with self-care itself\, widening it beyond routines\, rules\, or trends\, and reconnecting it to the very real experience of being a person in the world today. \nThis workshop is for anyone who feels overwhelmed by wellbeing advice\, disconnected from themselves\, or just unsure whether the way they’ve been taught to “look after themselves” actually works for them. \nYou’ll leave with: \n\n\nA more compassionate understanding of what self-care can be \n\n\nGreater clarity about what supports your emotional and mental wellbeing \n\n\nReflections and ideas you can return to in everyday life \n\n\nA sense of self-trust that doesn’t rely on doing more or being better \n\n\nAs part of the Frome Kindness Festival\, this workshop explores kindness as something we can practise inwardly as well as outwardly. As an ICF Associate Certified Coach and a certified emotions coaching practitioner\, Claire works with women navigating change\, burnout\, emotional overwhelm or simply a sense of feeling stuck. Her coaching sessions help people untangle what they’re feeling\, find clarity\, and build a sustainable wellbeing practice that fits who they are now. \nClaire’s writing on mental health\, emotions and midlife wellbeing has appeared in Happiful\, Breathe\, The Simple Things\, and others. SUMMARY:Frome Voices Spring Concert
DESCRIPTION:Frome Voices\, Frome’s largest community choir is delighted to return to the Cheese and Grain on Sunday 22nd March 2026 with a full evening of enticing choral and orchestral music\, enhanced by professional soloists. This year’s performance will include Carl Orff’s popular choral work\, Carmina Burana\, based on a collection of 13th century songs and poems. In addition\, Musical Director Alan Burgess will lead the choir through Vaughan Williams’ Serenade to Music\, written in1938 to celebrate Sir Henry Wood’s 50 years as a conductor. The concert will also include a performance of 20th century English composer Gerald Finzi’s clarinet concerto\, with orchestral accompaniment. It is reckoned to be one of the finest pieces written for the clarinet. The performance begins at 7.00pm.

He’ll go back on the road with his Cast\, The La’s and Me tour – undoubtedly with some extra stories from this summer\, when Cast supports Oasis in their return to stadium rock. \nJohn had the best rock’n’roll apprenticeship ever – playing bass as an 18-year-old in The La’s. Forming Cast in 1991\, he sang\, wrote songs\, and played guitar for one of Britpop’s pre-eminent bands–securing two platinum-selling records before returning to the charts in 2024 with the magnificent Love Is The Call. \nJohn’s solo career produced some of his best work and through this summer\, Cast will join Oasis at their sell-out football stadium tour. \nHe said: “I had an absolute belter of a time on the road and can’t wait to go at it again; I am pretty sure I’ll have some great stories from the summer ahead\, as well as plenty of other from my career until now. Experiment with painting on different types of paper and silk. \nJeanette\, your course tutor\, will offer different sources of inspiration from contemporary artists’ work\, photographs and natural resources. \nCome and explore painting anything that relates to the natural world and the shapes and colours that the natural world creates. You may decide to paint trees\, leaves and flowers\, or woods and mountains. The choice is yours! \nBreathe\, live and embrace the sounds of the natural world with meditative music; you can also write a small poem that will relate to your painting. Explore your inner creative self and paint your own picture in a relaxing and peaceful environment.
