You’ll enjoy a peaceful and immersive evening watching wildlife emerge as day turns to night. \nOur thriving beaver family has really made themselves at home on site at Heal Somerset\, establishing an impressive lodge and building a network of dams. They have been busy transforming the landscape in extraordinary ways and they are creating thriving wetlands that support a wealth of wildlife\, improve water quality and increase biodiversity. \nFull disclosure: beavers are often seen from the viewing area\, so there’s a good chance that you’ll see at least one\, but we can’t guarantee it. But even if you don’t\, you will learn lots about them as well as witness their hard work whilst spending valuable time in nature. \nEach beaver watch will be carefully led by experienced wildlife guide Nick Patel. His respectful approach will minimise disturbance as the beavers’ wellbeing is always the priority. We ask that all attendees follow this approach. \nAbout your workshop leader\, Nick Patel: \nNick is a tour guide\, conservationist\, naturalist and birder and is passionate about helping to protect\, create and maintain British wildlife. A lifelong Birdwatcher\, and former Nature reserve Warden\, Nick has devoted his life to shouting about how amazing our native biodiversity is and just why we should care for it. \nNick says “Having led tours here at Heal Somerset for two years now\, I’ve witnessed first-hand the speed at which nature has already made a comeback. DESCRIPTION:The Autumn Equinox is that beautiful moment when day and night are held in perfect balance before the landscape begins its gentle transition into winter. Rather than celebrating abundance\, it celebrates noticing\, seed heads instead of flowers\, texture instead of colour\, habitats instead of displays. \nTo celebrate this Autumn Equinox we invite you to join Amanda Randell Cox\, a local artist specialising in landscape-led botanical design\, at Heal Somerset for a morning of exploration\, creation and delicious food. We will start the day with tea\, coffee\, fruit and pastries followed by a guided walk around our beautiful rewilding site. DESCRIPTION:A relaxed\, monthly volunteer gathering to support nature restoration. Rooted in a spirit of community and curiosity. Join us to learn new skills\, spend time in nature\, and connect with like-minded folk. \nCome and spend a few hours in nature doing something that matters. No experience is necessary\, just a willingness to get stuck in and try something new. \n42 Acres has been a rewilding nature reserve for over a decade and is species-rich. Join us to connect with the natural world through hands-on activities from wildlife surveying\, to tending habitats\, and slowing down with nature photography. \nSessions run on the last Sunday of the month 10am-2pm (except in May when we are meeting at 8pm for bats and beavers!). There will be time to connect\, wander\, and simply be outside. If you’re up for it\, you’re welcome to join in for a wild swim too. At 1pm we’ll stop and share a simple lunch together\, provided by 42 Acres. \n____ \nSun 31 May: Bats and Beavers: \nPart of the Great Somerset Wildlife Count\, with guest expert Keith Ball (Somerset Bat Group). Please note: this is an evening session\, running 8–10pm\, as we head out for some gentle nocturnal exploration. \nSun 28 June: Hazel Dormice & Reading Nature: \nJoin us to create footprint tunnels for hazel dormice to discover whether this protected species (that have been spotted on neighbouring land!) exist at 42. We’ll also take a relaxed walk around the 11-acre lake\, recording observations and contributing to global biodiversity databases. We’ll look for signs of beaver activity\, tracks\, and birdlife\, and finish at the white stork enclosure\, part of our species reintroduction work. Guided by Lynne Sewell (Sustainable Witham)\, Robyn Caple (@nestandnettleecology)\, and Lisa Hawes (42 Acres). \nSun 26 July: Butterflies\, Dragonflies + Pond Dipping: \nPart of the UK Butterfly Monitoring Scheme\, one of the longest-running insect surveys in the world. With guest expert Fred Giles\, we’ll explore the world of butterflies\, dragonflies\, and other insects\, with a chance to get closer through pond dipping and observation. \nSun 30 Aug: Reptiles and Botanics: \nJoin us to check reptile refuges across the site\, helping us understand which species are present (and which are likely absent). Or take a creative route\, help us start making a handmade herbarium for the site while learning how to “key out”\, a step by step process used to identify unknown plant species. \nSun 27 Sep: Trees\nDiscover the stories of Britain’s ancient and veteran trees\, and learn how to identify and photograph them in their late-summer form. \nSun 25 Oct: Harvest Mice and Native Fungi:\nHelp us ascertain whether harvest mice are present on the land at 42\, we’ll search together for their tiny nests. On that note\, no dogs please. \nScarecrow Trail\nSet out on a farm adventure to meet all of our scarecrows and learn a bit about their homes along the way. \nStalls & Activities \nOpen Studios\nVisit the our farm makers. Drop in to see their work\, chat about their craft\, and join pop-up workshops throughout the day. \nStorytelling & Live Music\nLet little imaginations run wild with nature based tales and get your toes tapping along to local musicians. \nFood and Drink\nAs always we’ll be championing great food grown/reared locally and homemade here at the farm. Think hearty lamb stew and farm veg soup with a generous slab of locally made breads. DESCRIPTION:Come and explore nature in a new way at this Herbalism Walk and Medicine-Making Day led by Elena Tornberg-Lennox. \nYou will discover the history and medicinal uses of plants\, deepening your appreciation and understanding of them and how humans have connected to them throughout time. \nAs we move into autumn\, when the days are cooler and the nights are crisper\, the abundance of the natural world invites us to explore her gifts. So many of the plants we walk past every day have medicinal properties\, with some that might surprise you. Even bramble leaves and the humble nettle offer incredible health benefits\, while haws can support the heart and joints and rosehips contain around 40 times more vitamin C than oranges. \nThroughout the session\, Elena will share her ecological and herbal knowledge as you explore a different way of connecting with nature. Together\, you will walk the land\, identifying medicinal plants\, discussing their uses and learning how to forage for them respectfully. You’ll then enjoy a tasting of wild herbal teas before making your own hedgerow syrup\, created over the firepit\, to take home. \nTimings: \n\n10am: Arrival and welcome\n11.30am: Walk of site\n1pm: Lunch (please bring own)\n2pm: Medicine Making Session over the firepit\n4pm: Session ends\n\nRefreshments will be provided throughout the day \nAbout your guide\, Elena Tornberg-Lennox: \nElena is a herbalist\, ecologist\, storyteller and rewilder\, and loves to help people find ways to connect with the land and nature. Elena believes deeply in finding practical ways to work with the land\, and honouring the natural rhythms and processes of the natural world. \nElena says\, “By learning to work with plants\, we notice more and create a deep connection with the world around us. To be able to name and understand a plant creates a relationship that will last. What we know\, we can protect. Rewilding also needs us to rewild ourselves\, and understand ourselves as a part of nature”.

DESCRIPTION:A special DJ set showcasing the fab four like you’ve never heard before! DJ Chris Arnold takes you on a magical mystery tour of his collection of covers\, remixes and tracks that sampled arguably the greatest band that ever existed\, The Beatles. Expect to hear plenty of reggae\, ska\, latin\, hip hop\, dub\, funk\, house and even drum & bass takes on the wonderful music created by John\, Paul\, George & Ringo. \nThe Beatles Dub Club drew huge crowds throughout 2022\, performing to thousands at Boomtown\, Glastonbury\, Shambala\, Green Man\, Bluedot and more\, and ending the year with a personal invite from Fatboy Slim to his ‘All Back To Minehead’ Weekender. \nIn 2023 the show toured the UK and Europe\, including dates in France and Austria and a Bristol sell-out. It appeared at major festivals such as Latitude\, Isle of Wight and Camp Bestival\, and was named by Far Out Magazine as one of Glastonbury’s top 20 alternative acts. \n2024 took the act global with gigs in Australia\, New Zealand\, Bali and France\, plus a 40-date UK festival run. Chris introduced a horn section\, samba dancers and a new AV show at Green Man\, and the project was signed by Coalition Presents alongside major industry names. \nIn 2025 the show continued its momentum with extensive touring\, support slots for UB40\, The Wailers\, The Selecter and even East 17\, and a was given praise from Paul McCartney’s daughter Mary McCartney following a feature on BBC Radio 6 Music’s Tub of Dub. \nPlease note this is an 18+ all-standing event\, and the venue is accessed by stairs with no lift.
