SUMMARY:Illyria: Pinocchio
DESCRIPTION:Carlo Collodi’s classic is a perennial favourite. It is the third most translated book in the world\, having appeared in no fewer than 260 languages since it was published in 1883\, and has never been out of print. Childless toymaker Geppetto buys a piece of wood to make a puppet\, little realising the chaos he is about to unleash. The puppet yearns for adventure and runs away\, but instead of excitement\, only finds glorious attractions containing hidden dangers. \nHe returns home\, hoping to be showered with sympathy and learns his tribulations are just beginning. Running away hasn’t worked; lying won’t work; he must become a real boy to achieve the belonging he craves. Collodi describes the development from puppet to real boy in the same way that useless green timber is matured into useful\, well-seasoned wood – a transformation only achieved through trials of water and fire. Illyria celebrates this magical coming-of-age tale in a thrilling musical outdoor show. \nThis performance will be outdoors at the E.C.O.S. Amphitheatre. Please bring blankets\, cushions\, and chairs. We welcome picnics\, but please buy drinks from our bar. In the event of bad weather\, this event will move inside. \nRunning time: 95 minutes including interval\nRecommended: 5+\nTickets: £18 | Child: £10 | Students and those claiming financial assistance: £14\nRegistered carers go free

SUMMARY:Kula Shaker
DESCRIPTION:Named after a 9th-century Indian saint-poet\, Kula Shaker have always occupied their own corner of rock music. Emerging during Britpop\, they fused British psychedelia\, Indian mysticism and soaring melodies into a sound unlike any of their peers. \nTheir debut album K entered the UK charts at No. 1\, powered by hits including Tattva\, Govinda and Hush\, and established the band as one of the era’s most distinctive acts. Further successes followed with Peasants\, Pigs & Astronauts before the group’s premature split at the height of their powers. \nReuniting in the 2000s\, Kula Shaker gradually rebuilt momentum\, culminating in the return of the original line-up and a creative renaissance. Recent albums Natural Magick and their forthcoming eighth studio release have earned widespread acclaim\, blending psychedelic rock\, folk\, cinematic storytelling and spiritual themes with renewed energy. \nThirty years on\, Kula Shaker remain a rare phenomenon: a band driven by imagination\, adventure and the belief that music can be more than entertainment\, it can be transformative.

SUMMARY:Wet\, Wet\, Wet: Beaver and Human Wetlands of Heal Somerset
DESCRIPTION:Discover how humans and beavers are joining forces to restore vibrant wetland ecosystems at Heal Somerset. On this guided walk and talk with rewilding ranger Daniel Hill\, you will experience first-hand these developing wetlands and learn how dams\, ponds\, scrapes and more can shape water movement\, biodiversity\, and habitat recovery. Together you will explore how beaver activity and human intervention can complement each other to create healthier habitats\, cleaner water\, and climate-resilient ecosystems. \nAbout Daniel Hill \nAs the Rewilding Ranger at Heal Somerset\, Dan manages the site’s monitoring and land management programs. You can find him surveying for signs of beavers\, co-ordinating volunteer work parties\, or working with partners to deliver the hydrological restoration plan\, amongst a huge variety of other tasks. Dan’s passion for nature was sparked as a child growing up on an organic small holding in rural south Wales watching red kites soar above. His love of rewilding developed through volunteering with the RSPB on the Somerset Levels after completing a degree in Mathematical Sciences.

SUMMARY:Elvana: Elvis Fronted Nirvana
DESCRIPTION:ELVANA – THE WORLD’S FINEST ELVIS FRONTED TRIBUTE TO NIRVANA! \nFrom somewhere deep in the bowels of Disgraceland\, the King of Rock & Roll steps out of the afterlife\, plugs in\, and takes the mic for the band that changed the ’90s forever. Elvis fronts Nirvana. No compromise. Just pure\, electrified chaos. \nBlending the swagger of rockabilly with the raw punch of grunge\, Elvana rips through Nirvana’s catalogue while smashing it together with the finest moments of Elvis Presley’s legacy. Expect overdriven riffs\, hip-shaking grooves\, loud guitars\, louder screams\, and the kind of mash-ups that feel wrong until they feel absolutely perfect. It smells like cheeseburgers and teen spirit\, daddy-o. \nDescribed as “Bafflingly Brilliant” by The Guardian\, “Absolutely f**king epic” by NME\, and “The only band worth getting excited about this year” by Vice\, Elvana have built a reputation as one of the wildest live experiences on the planet. Even Billy Idol joked that if Elvis were still around\, he’d probably be covering Nirvana anyway. \nTwo icons. One stage. Zero rules. \nIf you haven’t seen Elvana yet\, you’re missing out. \nIf you have\, you already know… and you’re probably checking tour dates right now. \nStupid and contagious. In the absolute best way!

DESCRIPTION:MAGIS XL the encore to THINK XL\, showcases 40 artworks generously donated by 40 artists each with a connection to Black Swan Arts to continue its 40th anniversary celebrations. \nThis major fundraising exhibition builds on the success of April’s THINK XL when many artists responded to personal requests to gift artwork for the benefit of the arts centre.  Initially a single exhibition was planned\, however with two thirds of the artworks sold\, word spread of the exhibition and more artists offered to donate their artwork. By mid May the idea for a second exhibition was underway. \nMAGIS XL is exhibiting artwork; ceramics\, glasswork\, paintings\, photographs and sculpture from Frome and regionally based artists who are nationally and internationally recognised in their fields\, including donations from Christopher Bucklow\, Ian Marlow MRSS\, Bruce Munro\, Sandra Porter RWA\, Patricia Volk FRSS. \n100% of sales with build on over £3000 raised from THINK XL\, with the aim to at least double the total\, all of which will support a secure future of Frome’s first centre for visual arts.

SUMMARY:Flyte
DESCRIPTION:Formed by longtime friends Will Taylor and Nick Hill\, Flyte have quietly built a reputation as one of the UK’s most thoughtful and emotionally resonant modern bands. Across acclaimed releases including The Loved Ones\, This Is Really Going To Hurt\, and their 2023 self-titled album Flyte\, the duo have carved out a sound that blends classic singer-songwriter intimacy with rich\, contemporary production and breathtaking vocal harmony\, earning praise for their “vocal chemistry” and deeply felt musicality. \nTheir fourth album\, Between You and Me\, marks a new creative peak. Written in a burst of instinct and honesty at Taylor’s North East London flat\, the record was shaped by a desire to strip everything back\, no overthinking\, no overworking\, just real emotions captured in the moment. Collaborating with renowned producer Ethan Johns\, Flyte leaned fully into intuition\, crafting a collection of songs that feel raw\, immediate\, and profoundly human. The result is their most affecting work to date: a series of diary-like reflections on love\, vulnerability\, fallibility\, and growth. \nAcross their catalogue\, songs like “Faithless”\, “Cathy Come Home”\, “Victoria Falls”\, “Losing You”\, “Easy Tiger”\, and “Tough Love” reveal a band unafraid to be both fragile and fearless\, romantic yet unflinchingly honest. Their music explores the small emotional truths that define us\, delivered with cinematic warmth and harmonies that linger long after the final note. \nLive\, Flyte offer something truly special. Their performances are intimate and transportive\, drawing audiences into a shared emotional space where every lyric lands with quiet intensity. Expect a set that pulls you close\, moves you deeply\, and leaves you glowing.

SUMMARY:Illyria: the Pirates of Penzance
DESCRIPTION:Frederick\, accidentally apprenticed to Pirates as a child\, is indentured to the Pirate King until his 21st birthday. On the day he reaches 21 he leaves the ship\, announcing that he now intends to dedicate his life to the Pirates’ destruction. The Pirate King checks the contract’s small print – and realises that as Frederick’s birthday is 29th February on a leap year he has only had four birthdays and is actually indentured for another 63 years. With only the Penzance constabulary to protect him\, will Frederick be forced to serve the pirates until he is 84? And will his sweetheart\, Mabel\, wait for him that long? \nPerformed by a six-strong cast of actors/singers with fully orchestrated accompaniment\, The Pirates of Penzance boasts such gloriously memorable songs as “To be a Pirate King!”; “Modern Major General” and “A Policeman’s Lot is Not a Happy One”. With razor-sharp satire and glittering wit\, it remains as fresh as if it had been written today. \nThis performance will be outdoors at the E.C.O.S. Amphitheatre. Please bring blankets\, cushions\, and chairs. We welcome picnics\, but please buy drinks from our bar. In the event of bad weather\, this event will move inside. \nRunning time: 120 minutes including interval\nRecommended: All ages\nTickets: £20 | Child: £10 | Students and those claiming financial assistance: £14\nRegistered carers go free

SUMMARY:Emerging Earth Day 2 (WATER: Movement and Restoration)
DESCRIPTION:Emerging Earth is a four day intentional gathering held by Land\, Food and Medicine in partnership with 42 Acres\, Sense Ability and Listening to the Land. Here is an invitation to gather in a held container of sacred space and become part of a living community of spiritual practice and inquiry. Together we will explore the inter-relational aspects of being human on this earth at this time\, and cultivate our capacities to bring healing to ourselves\, one another and this world. \nThe second full day of Emerging Earth invites us into the qualities of the water element: flow\, movement\, emotional depth\, and the wisdom of allowing things to unfold. Through dance\, sound\, and reflective practices\, the day explores the ways we can soften\, connect\, and move with greater presence. \nThe day begins with Daoist Meditation and Yin Movement with Brij and Ezgi Erdal’s integration practice\, followed by breakfast and our Whole Group Circle\, a space to reconnect\, ground\, and move into the day together. \nThe morning session opens with the option of joining Sophie Bolton’s Outdoor Dance session\, an embodied experience inviting participants to connect with movement\, nature\, and the intelligence of the body\, and Nikki Trott’s Sacred Business session\, exploring the relationship between inner alignment and conscious creation. Another option during this time\, would be joining Wild Nutrition Workshop with Christina De Beuklaar \nThe first session is follow by communal lunch and after\, we enter a spacious period of collective rest\, exhale\, integration and being with the land. \nThe afternoon offers a choice between A Sound Journey with Joe and Garwyn\, a sonic exploration supporting deep listening and inner connection\, or Dee Woods’ Tending the River Ceremony\, an invitation to explore the symbolism and wisdom of water through creative and reflective practice. \nThe second afternoon session is Breathwork Session with Vaughan Dagnell. Vaughan is a trauma aware Embodied Resilience Practitioner and Conscious Connected Breathwork Facilitator\, working with somatic experiencing and central nervous system regulation. His work explores a hybrid of cognitive and somatic work to find balance and flow in everyday life. \nThe day will close with a performance by Jennifer Gwairoch – a musician and spiritual practitioner whose work is inspired by years of devotion to the living intelligence of the natural world\, esoteric traditions\, and the path of inner transformation. Through intuitive vocals\, prayer\, and original compositions\, Jennifer create immersive musical experiences that invite deep remembrance\, healing\, and reconnection with the heart. Many of her songs are sung in intuitive languages\, offering a contemplative space that speaks beyond the intellect and into the soul. \nFull programme and facilitators’ backgrounds and offerings can be found here: https://www.42acres.com/retreats/emerging-earth-2026/ \nPart of The Experience:\nSpace for Meditation and Stillness: Open 24 Hours\nA Healers Garden: A diverse and highly-skilled range of therapeutic practitioners offering 121 sessions. SUMMARY:Rory Bremner and Friends
DESCRIPTION:As the nations favourite satirical mimic\, Rory really needs no introduction what-so-ever. \nHe’s provided definitive impersonations of PMs and Presidents from Major to Mandela\, Blair to Brown\, Clinton to Cameron and Bush to Trump. As himself\, he’s been presenter\, writer\, quiz-show host\, actor\, translator and even (briefly) ballroom dancer. (Strictly\, 2011. WTF?) \nBy the time he’d graduated in 1984\, he was already performing on the London stand-up circuit and at his native Edinburgh Festival Fringe\, and got his first TV series with the BBC in 1986. In a TV career of over 30 years\, he’s won numerous awards\, including 3 BAFTAs for his long-running Channel 4 satire series Bremner Bird & Fortune\, featuring Rory and the two Johns. \nRory’s other TV credits include regularly appearing on Whose Line is it Anyway\, Spitting Image\, Have I Got News for You\, and Mock the Week. \nRoger Monkhouse is one of the most original and distinctive acts on the comedy scene. A consummate stand-up who employs a deadly combination of charm and menace to exert a masterful control over any audience. \nNewcomer Rich Bunn will be doing a ten minute spot – he was recently the Runner Up in the 2026 Bath Comedy Festival New Act Competition. \nRunning time: 120 minutes including 20-minute interval\nRecommended: 14+\nTickets: £27
