SUMMARY:Livewire AC/DC
DESCRIPTION:AC/DC\, arguably the greatest rock band of all time\, are brought to life by Live/Wire with the true passion you would expect from professional musicians who share your love of this legendary live act. They deliver a critically acclaimed High Voltage two hour rock ’n’ roll set with not only cannons and a full bank of Marshall amps but a journey that takes fans from one of the best-selling albums of all time ‘Back in Black’ through to the 2020 release ‘PWR UP’\, with a healthy dose of the classics from the Bon Scott era. \nLive/Wire combines the vocal power of Podge Blacksmith as Brian Johnson\, the virtuoso talent of Simon Davies as Angus Young and metronome-like accuracy of Dan Mosley as Malcolm Young. The line-up is completed by Eddie Clark as long time bassist Cliff Williams and James Last providing the Phil Rudd like groove from behind the kit. \nNow in their 28th year\, Live/Wire put the audience right in the middle of a live experience comparable to that only AC/DC themselves produce. We invite AC/DC fans to join us\, sing with us and relive some of those classic AC/DC concerts of the past on our very own Highway to Hell.

SUMMARY:Party at the end of the world – A celebration of Phil Moakes
DESCRIPTION:Party At The End Of The World – A Celebration Of The Life Of Phil Moakes \nThe Cheese and Grain was deeply saddened to share the news of the passing of Phil Moakes\, former Chair of the Cheese and Grain Board of Trustees\, in 2025. \nPhil played a pivotal role in the development of the Cheese and Grain and was instrumental in securing the venue’s long-term future during some of its most challenging years. His dedication\, leadership\, and belief in the venue and its staff helped shape it into the vibrant cultural hub it is today. \nBeyond his work with the Cheese and Grain\, Phil was the founder of Frome FM\, a community radio station that continues to enrich local life. He went on to launch Visual Radio Arts\, giving a platform to hundreds of artists and supporting their work. He also served as a Somerset County Councillor\, working tirelessly to represent and champion the interests of the local community. \nIn celebration of Phil’s life\, we are honoured to be hosting a special event\, “Party At The End Of The World\,” alongside his family and friends. \nThe evening will feature a fantastic line-up including The Utopia Strong\, Arch Garrison\, Richard\, Chantelle & Amy\, Kavus Torabi\, The Jolly Rotter\, Hodmadoddery\, Sara Vian and will be hosted by Martin Dimery. \nWe remain profoundly grateful for Phil’s vision\, support\, and the lasting legacy he leaves behind\, not only within the Cheese and Grain\, but across the wider Frome community. \nIn celebration of his life and in honour of this legacy\, all funds raised from the event will be donated to support the vital work of Fair Frome.

SUMMARY:Merlin Youth Theatre: an Evening of Shakespeare
DESCRIPTION:The evening begins with a bold\, abridged production of Macbeth\, reimagined in 1920s Small Heath\, Birmingham. In a world of razor gangs\, smoky backrooms\, and shifting loyalties\, ambition and prophecy collide as rival gang members vie for power. When a trusted lieutenant hears a prediction that he will become the next leader\, a dangerous chain of events is set in motion. As loyalty crumbles and paranoia grows\, the cost of ruthless ambition becomes impossible to escape. \nThis contemporary interpretation brings Shakespeare’s tragedy into the gritty underworld of post-war Birmingham\, where power is taken\, not given\, and every alliance carries a price. \nFollowing Macbeth\, the young performers present a selection of Shakespearean monologues\, showcasing some of the playwright’s most powerful speeches. These moments offer a glimpse into the rich emotional worlds of Shakespeare’s characters. Full of passion\, conflict\, humour\, and humanity\, it gives our actors the chance to step into a range of unforgettable roles. \nRunning time: 90 minutes plus interval\nRecommended: 10+\nTickets: £5.00

SUMMARY:Wild Circle
DESCRIPTION:Wild Circle is a women’s group in nature -women sharing honest conversation around a fire\, in a beautiful garden setting.\nNo pressure or expectation\, just a warm welcome and a gentle invitation to take a pause from everyday life and create a little breathing space. \n“Tara made me feel very welcome and relaxed\, I felt completely at ease. I would highly recommend.” -Jo- \n“It was just what I wanted\, a real ‘firebreak’ in a busy life. Thank you for allowing us to develop what we did in our own way\, whilst gently guiding and holding the session. I think the choice to stay in the ’embrace’ of the wooden structure worked well\, and I found the time by the fire warming in body and spirit. And great cake too.” -Beverly- \nFridays 10am – 11:30am\, monthly at Vallis Farm

SUMMARY:Well Women Retreat Day
DESCRIPTION:An opportunity to nourish yourself with gentle meditative movement and deep relaxation\, nature connection\, community\, cold water immersion & sauna therapy and a lovely lunch in the farmhouse dining room at Vallis Farm\, catered with homegrown herbs and vegetables.\nGift yourself this time and space to reset\, rediscover and revitalise yourself. \nHarriet and Tara have been hosting these days for women for several years now and they are such a joy. It’s a real opportunity to be guided into a place of deep rest and relaxation\, a chance to pause and switch off from the chaos of everyday life. We’re extra excited about this May day as the weather and the water will be warmer and will support a more gentle introduction to wild swimming than our previous winter dates – although we will of course have the sauna on! Our venue\, Vallis Farm will be bursting into bloom as well\, so a real balm for the soul on all levels.\nLeave feeling more grounded\, spacious and joyful.\nTara & Harriet xx

SUMMARY:China Crisis
DESCRIPTION:The early 1980s saw a second Liverpool music renaissance\, with China Crisis emerging in 1981 from Kirkby as the songwriting duo Gary Daly (vocals/keyboards) and Eddie Lundon (guitar/vocals). Influenced by Bowie\, Stevie Wonder\, Eric Satie and Brian Eno\, they quickly developed a unique sound—blending synthpop with reggae\, country\, horns\, strings\, and more—working with producers like Mike Howlett\, Langer/Winstanley and Steely Dan’s Walter Becker. \nThe band achieved three UK Top 40 albums and eleven UK Top 50 singles\, including “Wishful Thinking\,” “Christian\,” “Black Man Ray\,” and “King in a Catholic Style\,” while building a loyal fanbase that endures today. Their music continues to reach new audiences\, sampled by artists like French Montana and Action Bronson\, and featured in films and TV such as Gone Girl and Sex Education. \nChina Crisis have toured worldwide for over four decades. Their 2015 fan-funded album Autumn in the Neighbourhood marked a celebrated return to form and will be relaunched in 2025. In 2024\, they released China Greatness\, a reimagined collection of songs from their 42-year catalogue\, produced with Grammy-winner Mark Phythian and featuring new orchestral arrangements\, earning their highest-ever chart position at No. 5 on the UK Vinyl Album Chart. \nRenowned for engaging live shows that mix music with trademark Scouse humour\, China Crisis remain a cherished and relevant band\, still connecting with fans old and new.

It’s also proven to: \n– Lower stress levels and heart rate \n– Improve attention span and memory \n– Enhance empathy and emotional resilience \n– Offer our brains a deep\, restorative form of rest \nWhen we read in community\, we also experience the benefits of shared presence\, which also supports our mental wellbeing. \nThis event is part of our wider mission at If Lost Start Here to help people better connect\, with themselves\, others and the world around them. \nReady to book your place? Reserve Your Spot Now \nThis event takes place on Vallis Farm’s Community Day. SUMMARY:Wet\, Wet\, Wet: Beaver and Human Wetlands of Heal Somerset
DESCRIPTION:Discover how humans and beavers are joining forces to restore vibrant wetland ecosystems at Heal Somerset. On this guided walk and talk with rewilding ranger Daniel Hill\, you will experience first-hand these developing wetlands and learn how dams\, ponds\, scrapes and more can shape water movement\, biodiversity\, and habitat recovery. Together you will explore how beaver activity and human intervention can complement each other to create healthier habitats\, cleaner water\, and climate-resilient ecosystems. \nAbout Daniel Hill \nAs the Rewilding Ranger at Heal Somerset\, Dan manages the site’s monitoring and land management programs. You can find him surveying for signs of beavers\, co-ordinating volunteer work parties\, or working with partners to deliver the hydrological restoration plan\, amongst a huge variety of other tasks. Dan’s passion for nature was sparked as a child growing up on an organic small holding in rural south Wales watching red kites soar above. His love of rewilding developed through volunteering with the RSPB on the Somerset Levels after completing a degree in Mathematical Sciences.

DESCRIPTION:A brand-new tour of the joys of the English language with ‘Britain’s best-loved wordsmith’. \nFollowing on from her hit show ‘The Secret Life of Words’\, Susie Dent is back with a brand-new collection of facts and stories from the wonderful world of words. And just how many words do we need for being drunk? \nWith the help of funny\, insightful\, and head-scratching examples\, Susie will entertain and educate us with her pick of language’s greatest hits. Word Perfect will remind us just how unpredictable\, wayward\, and utterly magical our mother tongue can be. \n

SUMMARY:The Bob Villains – Live At The Tree House
DESCRIPTION:In 1966\, Bob Dylan toured the UK. Each night began with a solo acoustic set\, before Dylan returned to the stage backed by a full electric band. Some in the audience loved the change; others did not. At the Free Trade Hall in Manchester\, one voice rang out above the rest\, famously shouting “Judas!” Dylan’s response was immediate and legendary: “I don’t believe you!”\,  before instructing the band to play louder. \nExactly years to the day\, The Bob Villains mark this iconic moment in music history\, with a special show at The Tree House\, Frome. This is truly one not to miss. \nCovering Dylan’s career from his early 1960s acoustic work\, through the electric years and his many stylistic reinventions\, The Bob Villains have spent over a decade presenting his music with the respect and depth it deserves. These five musicians capture the spirit\, power\, and poetry of Dylan’s songs without gimmicks or imitation. \nTheir extensive repertoire includes favourites such as Mr Tambourine Man\, All Along the Watchtower\, Forever Young\, Like a Rolling Stone\, Hurricane\, One More Cup of Coffee\, Knockin’ on Heaven’s Door\, Quinn the Eskimo\, Lay Lady Lay and You’re a Big Girl Now\, alongside deeper cuts from the Dylan songbook including It’s Alright Ma (I’m Only Bleeding)\, Chimes of Freedom and Silvio. \nThis year also marks 60 years since the release of the iconic double album Blonde on Blonde\, with a selection of songs from that record featured in the show. \nWith Dylan still touring in his 80s\, we are proud to celebrate the man and his music. The Bob Villains are a tribute\, not a tribute act\, no wigs\, no funny voices\, just 100% Bob Dylan’s music\, played with passion and authenticity. \nFor more information\, photos and videos\, visit\nwww.thebobvillains.com \n“Truly amazing – when you closed your eyes it could have been Bob singing.” \n“This band interprets the music with an obvious deep respect for the source material.” \n“Thanks for an amazing night. I’ll make sure I see you again in the not-too-distant future.” \nPlease note this is an 18+ all standing event\, and the venue is accessed by stairs with no lift. SUMMARY:Mojo Moves Memorial
DESCRIPTION:Prompted by regular Mojo Mover Jayne James’ recent appearance on The Repair Shop\, and\, as part of the wider Frome Connects project\, this special session will have a playlist shaped by songs that remind us of people we love and miss.\nJayne appeared on the BBC1 show with her childhood teddy bear – a small companion with an extraordinary story.\nThe bear was originally given to her mum\, Betty\, a nurse at St Martin’s Hospital in Bath\, in 1960 by Hollywood songwriter Sharon Sheeley\, shortly after she survived the car crash that tragically killed her boyfriend\, rock ’n’ roll legend Eddie Cochran.\nAt the time\, Betty was pregnant\, and the bear was passed on to baby Jayne\, becoming a lifelong companion.\nJayne lost her mum last year\, and her story led us to think about how powerfully music can hold memories. Our initial idea was to create a rock ’n’ roll special featuring the music of Eddie Cochran\, but we decided instead to open it up – inviting all participants to share songs that hold personal meaning.\nYou’re very welcome to send in a song – just please do so at least one week in advance\, as we’ll be choreographing any new tracks ahead of time.\nThere will still be all the usual Mojo Moves energy\, warmth and connection – just with an added layer of meaning.\nProceeds will go to a charity of Jayne’s choice.
